There is a deliberate attempt by the NDC to whittle down the real issue in contention particularly with respect to the ongoing Ambulance case at the High Court.
In fact, those inconceivable attempts have been to shift the minds of the unsuspecting public to a certain audio which has nothing to do with any of the charges pressed against individuals standing trial in the ongoing case.
Their callous strategies in this game are the connection of a certain thought through loose(d)strings to create the impression as though, there is no culpability but the state is forcing a certain conviction on some individuals through malice, and this is being fronted by Richard Jakpa who is on record to have been dismissed from the military for egregious misbehavior.
I am not prepared to delve into the matter since the same is 'subjudice'. The heightened bizarre in their callous attempts is the heaping attacks on Mr Godfred Yeboah Dame, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice of the Republic of Ghana. It is important to understand that, the respected AG has been their nemesis from day one simply because Hon Godfred Yeboah Dame is on record to have defeated all their so-called legal luminaries within their camp.
Readers would rightly recall that, after the 2020 general elections, the NDC engaged the services of lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata when they made moves to scuttle Mr.John Peter Amewu's win through a frivolous injunction application at the High Court in Ho. In that bid, they were so sure that, aftermath of the said injunction application was going to reduce the NPP's numbers in Parliament for" shege" reasons.
Unbeknown to them, Mr. Godfred Yeboah Dame had prepared to face the said mischief through an unknown strike from behind. After the said defective injunction was procured from the HO High court, Mr. Godfred Yeboah Dame took supervisory action at the Supreme Court of Ghana. When the matter was called, Mr. Godfred Yeboah Dame pointed out the defectiveness in the original application they filed at the High Court in HO.
In that action, Mr Godfred Yeboah Dame pointed out that, since the original action was an election Petition dispute, couching the same as a writ of summons for the enforcement of fundamental Human Rights was procedurally wrong and that, the said procedural defect took away the jurisdiction of the High Court.
The Supreme Court agreed with him and granted the certiorari application. The High Court decision was quashed and John Peter Amewu had the green light to join his colleagues for the swearing-in on 7th January 2021. After the said defeat against Tsatsu Tsikata in the Supreme Court, Mr. Godfred Yeboah Dame became their target for ostensible vicious and callous attacks moving forward.[ Republic v High Court, HO] Exparte Attorney General and Minister of Justice,~interested Party Professor Margrete Quacooe]
It is worth noting that, when Nana Addo appointed Mr.Martin Amidu, the NDC sensed that, since they had fallen out with Mr.Amidu, allowing his appointment to go through as Special Prosecutor was going to occasion mass prosecution of former appointees of Mr.John Mahama, they hired their Former Deputy Attorney General, Mr. Dominic Ayine to file a writ at the Supreme Court. Their motive was to get the Supreme Court to declare his appointment as unconstitutional so that, they could use that to block his appointment.
Mr.Godfred Yeboah Dame who was a deputy AG at the time met them in court and defeated Tony Lithur through a brilliant submission he made which the court agreed with. That writ was dismissed at the end of the day.
The truth of the matter is that Mr. Godfred Yeboah Dame is the only Attorney General in history to have blocked 10 trillion Ghana cedis judgement debt which had compounded from the days of the NDC. I remember and I know readers will recall that, in 2017, when NPP came to power, one of the NDC's judgment debtors who got paid through criminal collusion between the then Attorney General, Madam Betty Mould Iddrisu took up the matter to the London Court in his bid to block the current administration from retrieving monies paid to him by the NDC's looter government.
Mr. Godfred Yeboah Dame who was a deputy Attorney General then represented the country in London and raised preliminary legal objection which resulted in the outright dismissal of the case.
In fact, an aspect of the matter on violations of Human claims of Human Rights against the state was filed by Woyome in Tanzania. Mr.Godfred Yeboah Dame, Deputy AG at the time represented the state in Tanzania and argued a preliminary objection on grounds of sovereign jurisdiction in favour of the state. The court agreed with him and dismissed the matter in limine.
On the basis of the foregoing, it is clear that Mr. Godfred Yeboah Dame became NDC's target from day one. The recent attacks on him have been hatched from the days of Adam.
On Tuesday, the AG department served an indication to go ballistic in the cross-examination of criminal Richard Jakpa, and that, I am sure will put his mischief the NDC finds solace in to rest in peace.
