George Walker Bush! What is there to say about this guy? Well, everything. I don’t think that enough could be said about the man! To start, this is a guy who came to power under suspicious circumstances. According to some, his entrance into the Oval Office was a forced entry. Meaning, he stole the 2000 presidential election in the United States. Also, a coup d’état comes to mind. Many have it that Bush’s triumph over Al Gore was a coup d’état. Personally, I believe that it was just that, a coup d’état! Yes, George Bush did seize power by force. He didn’t fly straight at all. Of course, his junior brother--Jeb Bush, Florida’s former governor--had a hand in it. Usually, in America, a presidential candidate is more likely to win the presidency if he/she wins the popular vote. As y’all know, Al Gore won the popular vote. So, most naturally, many were expecting him to be America’s next president. Surprisingly, George Bush came out the victor. The election was rigged! The rest, as they say, is history!
It has been three years since George Bush left the office. Thank God for that! And, what has he been up to ever since? Well, you wouldn’t believe it. But, guess what? George Bush has written a book. Yes, he written a memoir! I was surprised when I found that out! In fact, I had a very hard time believing it myself. I, for one, didn’t believe that George Bush could read, let alone write. Let’s face it; for a president of the greatest nation on Earth, George Bush didn’t exhibit intelligence in his actions. He was a total idiot and wasn’t too shy to act like one! I could talk about how he misled the American people into two wars. Well, pardon me. Two illegal invasions would be more like it! One in Iraq, the other in Afghanistan. He lied to them that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, when the opposite was true. Saddam Hussein and his two sons are dead because of his lies! Thousands of innocent Iraqis are in their graves because of George Bush, the devil. Hugo Chavez is the one who called him that, not me!
Personally, I feel that George Bush should be tried in The Hague. But, what do y’all think? Currently, American soldiers are at war in Afghanistan. And, for what? I don’t know. They say that they are looking for Bin Laden. But, is Bin Laden in Afghanistan? Perhaps, we should ask George Bush that question. He sent them there! Anyway, he has written a memoir like I said. Just the other day, he was on The Oprah Winfrey Show promoting it. During the show, he told Oprah what he experienced as a former president. He withheld nothing and avoided no questions! Oprah asked him his reason for writing the memoir. “I wanted to give the people a glimpse into my presidency,” he answered. “But, why?” Oprah queried. “I made mistakes, which others could hopefully learn from,” he replied. Now, I may not be a fan of George Bush! However, I couldn’t help but applaud him for this. Way to go, Bush!
Jeremiah John Rawlings! Yes, JJ Rawlings. Y’all know him! He’s the guy who ruled Ghana for nineteen years. The only president in our nation’s history to have two decades to his name. Well, almost two decades! He handed over power in 2000. So, he has been in retirement for eleven years! By now, this legendary figure should’ve penned some books--on his experience, for our reading pleasure. At least, a memoir should’ve been in order. We know that he could write! So, why hasn’t he written any? This is the question! Which brings me to John Agyekum Kufour, Ghana’s gentle giant! Undoubtedly, Kufour would go down in history as one of Ghana’s finest presidents. This is a guy who inherited a weak economy from Rawlings and made it stronger. The truth needs to be told! Personally, I am curious as to how he did it. Also, our future presidents, I believe, deserve to know. Such information could prove useful to them if they are to become better leaders of tomorrow! So, why hasn’t he written a book on this? Dear reader, if George Bush could pen his experience for others to learn, then, why can’t Kufour and Rawlings do the same?
