The appearance before the Appointments Committee of Parliament of the heavily-pregnant Deputy Minister-designate for Agriculture, Hannah Louisa Bissiw, was very brief, funny and useless as a result of her cats & dogs stories to the Ghanaian Farmers as a Deputy Minister-designate for Agriculture.
Just before the Deputy Minister-designate was vetted, Chairman of the Appointments Committee Ebo Barton Oduro appealed to members to ask just a few questions to enable the nominee to leave quickly. "Honourable members, as you can see, the Deputy Minister-designate is heavily-pregnant and should therefore not be made to sit here for long," said Chairman Ebo Barton.
Answering a question posed by "the concert party entertainer", Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa, "Dr. Bissiw, how would you advise owners of pets, like cats and dogs, to take good care of them since such pets are "delicacy" for some ethnic groups?
Hannah Louisa Bissiw, instead of saying something which would be encouraging and of advantage to the Ghanaian farmers, she narrated a composition about her own experience on a baseless lose talk on her lost cat.
The highly and heavily-pregnant Deputy Minister-designate for Agriculture, Hannah Bissiw, said she had a beautiful cat as a pet but the cat ended up in someones soup because she, Bissiw, did not take very good care of it. "Mr. Chairman as a young girl, I had a beautiful kitten as my cherished pet, but there were some young men in our house who sometimes took the pet and fed it till the kitten grew into a fat cat.
But one day my cat was nowhere to be found, so I asked the young men in my house whether the cat had come to them and the answer was that if I could only split their stomachs open, I could find the cat there; meaning they had killed and eaten the cat."
She said it was important for pet owners to take very good care of their pets and ensure that they got vaccinated against diseases so that such pets could live long and provide them the companionship they needed.
You see! these are sometimes some of the bogus and useless things our parliamentarians waste our resources to discuss in the parliament.
The 40-year-old Deputy Minister-designate, Hannah Bissiw, a Cuban trained veterinary doctor, said constant education should be carried out in areas on the need for cattle farmers to periodically vaccinate their cattle against the bacteria that causes the disease like anthrax which is as a highly contagious disease and therefore stressed that the government should sponsor more people to specialisein veterinary services so that they could promote public health.
Apart from her irrelevant talks about cats & dogs, the "Petty" Minister-designate for Agriculture could not author a word about how, she as a Deputy Minister for Agriculture would assist farmers in the country in terms of finance and technology to usefully and profitably engage in food-crops, cocoa and timber to enhance productivity.
The Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) used millions of the tax payers money to plant "ghost" trees but all got burnt, because, (probably) THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE, (JUST LIKE HANNAH BISSIW AND HER LOST CAT) WAS ALSO ONLY INTERESTED AND FOCUSED ON HIS LOST DOG" INSTEAD OF EDUCATIVE PROGRAMS FOR THE SADA, AS TO HOW THEY COULD HAVE PROTECTED THE "GHOST" TREES PLANTED FROM BURNING. AS WELL AS MEASURES TO PROTECTING THE MILLIONS OF GUINEA FOWLS FROM CROSSING THE BORDER OVERNIGHT TO THE NEIGHBOUR COUNTRY BURKINA FASO.
THEY WANT US TO BELIEVE SUCH NONSENSE!
