Is Professor Atta Mills Worse Than a Confused Meander?

Professor John Evans Atta Mills, the flag bearer of the NDC, is a highly educated person. He has held many important positions in the political, social and economic administration of Ghana. He is a peace loving person. He is for the third time making a calculated effort to be of a greater service to his nation by serving in the capacity of its president if Ghanaians would confer that honour upon him, come December 7, 2008. He is desirous to be of immense service to humanity and his country. It is very good of him.

It must however be noted that holding a highly dignified position is completely divergent from being able to deliver. They are both on two different undulated wavelengths. It takes an ardent pragmatist to be able to merge these wavelengths to arrive at the desired level where one ably delivers in consonant with his position held. Or else, it will be like preaching virtue in public while practising vices under the cover of darkness, though only to be seen by God. Does such a situation benefit anyone in the ship other than the Captain? No, only the Captain enjoys to the detriment of the crew and the passengers. This is the very appalling and timid nature of the former Vice President of Ghana, Mr. Atta Mills, under the Rawlings' NDC regime.

Mr. Mills is a complete weakling. He is neither in complete control of his NDC party nor is he in "semi-demi" control of his household. When it comes to his party, he quivers when the camouflaged Junior Jesus Rawlings opens his mouth. At home, it is his wife who reigns. A person, whose wife can oblige him to throw out his only child on earth from the family home for the fact of the child not being the wife's real son, is not worth my vote.

Professor Mills is unfortunately more confused in his present political life than a "Confused stream meandering in the wild". While it is in his nature to choose peace over violence, he hesitates a bit, and then takes after his mentor Mr. Rawlings to rave, threaten and then issue intimidating warnings. He does all this to please the "Jato", the sole proprietor of the NDC. Until he reins in Rawlings, takes full leadership control of the party and charts the course of his campaign, his dreams of ever becoming the President of Ghana are only wishful thinking. Until he wears the trousers at his home to show he is the man, and advises his wife to wear the bead, he is doomed to suffer a third decisive sequential defeat. Mark my prophetic words! To be in consultation with Mr. Rawlings on any national issue or policy before he takes a decision will be calamitous for Ghanaians and the nation. Mr. Rawlings is a shameless tribalist full of venom for the Akans especially, his dreaded Ashantis. He has also a cumulative evidence of being temperamentally violent. Ghanaians are disinterested in any further Rawlings' tyrannical rule; the likely case should Atta Mills win without first reining in Rawlings.

Mr. Jerry John Rawlings has hijacked the politics of Ghana since the year 1979 for various reasons. His soul is always willing to redeem Ghanaians from their economic, political and social dilapidation but his corrupted body has blighted his hopes. Consequently, his loss of faith in himself and his hatched tactical malevolence has incurred him intellectual and moral anarchy. He has become a preacher of equality though he is more equal than others. He purports to be the friend of the poor, yet he gets richer by each ticking of the clock while the poor gets poorer. In his hallucinations, he is at table with the poor yet, he does not share the meal. Such is the character Rawlings who is ever determined to plunge the nation into chaos comes December 2008. He is a complete trickster and an opportunist coup addict. While he is fanning the embers that will set the nation ablaze to engulf the ignorant NDC poor folks and the rest of the citizenries, he has his family residing peacefully in the Whiteman's land. This is a food for thought for his stream of unconscious followers.

The NDC though are pushing frenetically for power sharing by their boastful threats, Mr. Evans Atta Mills should be seen to be at the oars of his NDC boat. He is to ensure peace prevails contrary to the anticipated perception of Rawlings and his bunch of charlatans if really, he was the self-acclaimed "Asomdwehene" He should take the fullest control of the party to inject hope into it. The NDC are to campaign on issues of how best to better Ghana and the lives of Ghanaians, rather than broadcasting how violent they are, or they can be. A word to the wise is sufficient.
