Kumawuman’s “Mightiest Tree” is Still Uprightly in Place

I am putting this publication out against the backdrop of the most recently rumoured uprooting of the "mightiest tree" in Kumawu that gained currency and spread among Kumawuman citizens throughout the world like a mid-summer bushfire. The rumour has been proved beyond all doubts to be completely false. It could only have been the figment of someone's imagination or simply self-staged by herself for reasons only best known to her.

She resurfaced in Kumawu on the night of Friday 27 March 2015. Today, Saturday 28 March 2015, she sauntered through the streets of Kumawu, wearing a pair of shades, a pair of jeans trousers and a blouse top with the purported Kumawuhene Barimah Sarfo Tweneboah Koduah (Dr Yaw Sarfo) by her side, him wearing a smock ("fuugu"). They were followed by a maximum of about twenty people; their usual "Apebiakyere/Ankaase" boys.

Let me straightaway proceed to query the circumstances of the rumour. Who is the originator of the rumour and what purpose was it meant for? It surely originated from within her inner circle. Could it have been staged to test whether people love her, care about her, sympathise with her or what? What could be the ulterior motive of the originator of the rumour?

Whatever the intention and objectives of the originator of the rumour were, a few people heaved a sigh of relief seeing her alive while the majority of them rather bit their finger in their mouth. Many people ignored her when she strolled in the streets of Kumawu; not bothering about whether she lives or she dies.

Let me add this bit from Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. He went on air to say that the decision to enthrone Dr Yaw Sarfo as the alleged Kumawuhene was not his alone, but a unanimous decision by the Asanteman Council. Therefore, he is not to be blamed for the aftermath wrangling, be whatever they are. I find his defensive assertion a complete joke.

Assuming the Asanteman Council took that decision, what was his personal contribution toward the decision finally taken on the botched adjudication of the Kumawu stool dispute on 24 February 2014 at the Manhyia Palace? Was he not arguing blindly, mischievously and collusively like all the other Amanhene and Kumasi sub-chiefs gathered there? How do they now feel seeing themselves behaving irresponsibly, ignorantly and corruptibly in the video posted on YouTube titled, "Asantehene involves in corruption?"

The majority always carries the vote but there is an exception to every rule. The exception here is, "it is not always that the majority is right". I am not going to repeat myself here about my views on Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and Asanteman Council with regard to the alleged enstoolment of Dr Yaw Sarfo as Kumawuhene. I have already made my views, stance, and the conventions and laws on their deplorably illegal attitudes before, during and after the enstoolment of Dr Yaw Sarfo clear in my previous publications.

Asantehene went on to declare that there is an absolute calm in Kumawu since his detrimentally illegal enstoolment of Dr Yaw Sarfo as Kumawuhene. His assertion goes to negate the false allegation made by DCOP Nathan Kofi Boakye's police via the Ashanti Effiduase Divisional Police Commander against Barimah Tweneboah Koduah V, the popularly accepted Kumawuhene; Nana Akwasi Baffoe II, Akwamuhene; Nana Sarfo Agyekum II, Aduanahene; and Nana Okyere Krapah, Akyempemhene. The police took them to Effiduase Magistrate Court, alleged the mentioned chiefs would have caused bloodbath in Kumawu during their celebration of Akwasidee on Sunday 18th January 2015, if they (police) had not intervened. Their supporters clashed with the Ohemaa's (Dr Yaw Sarfo) supporters, they said.

I do not want to go deeper into the useless fabrications by the police tailored to support Dr Yaw Sarfo even though Ghana police are debarred from involving themselves in chieftaincy affairs, let alone, taking sides unfairly. The case was thrown out by the Magistrate/Judge.

However, for the attention of Asantehene as a matter of correction, there is a relative calm in Kumawu because the masses have got their chief in the person of Barimah Tweneboah Koduah V, from the Ananangya royal family, the descendants of Barimah Tweneboah Koduah I, the originator of the Kumawu Koduah Stool. Again, the supporters of Barimah Tweneboah Koduah V are not interested in violence, but the prevalence of justice, peace and calm.

Because of the truce I have unilaterally agreed, I shall not go further than this. However, I expect no-one to underrate what God can do through me should Asantehene, Asanteman Council, Kumawuhemaa Abenaa Serwaah Amponsah, Dr Yaw Sarfo (Barimah Sarfo Tweneboah Koduah) continue as intransigently corrupt and abusive of the people's trust and traditions as they always wish to.

Kumawuman by their 95% majority are supportive of Barimah Tweneboah Koduah V.

Let Asantehene, Kumawuhemaa Abenaa Serwaah Amponsah, Asanteman Council and Dr Yaw Sarfo know that God is in control. God has given them enough warnings, but they are persisting in their evil ways. God may soon no longer have patience with them, as stubborn and mired in their evil ways as they are. They will suffer the fiery wrath of God should they not heed His warnings.
