Letter From The President: ?Moneycrazy?

Countrymen and women, loyalists and opponents,
money, they say, is the root of all evil. In Sikaman, one could also say, that money maketh a thieving politician. With you win political office and steal as much as you can.
Whichever office you are contest for in Sikaman, you need tonnes of money. You need money to launch an effective campaign. With money you can print as many posters as possible, replacing the damaged ones as regularly as they are torn. Money can also help you make a lot of noise. In politics, noise is very important. Such noise gives you visibility and Sikaman citizens like noisy people. You also need money to pay the members of your campaign team, who might not necessarily be crack political strategists but hungry bootlickers who will ran your errands for you.
The most important use of money in Sikaman politics, however, is that it gets you the votes. If you are rich, you can bribe the people to vote for you. The number of votes a politician wins in an election in Sikaman usually has nothing to do with his stand on any issue. It has nothing to do with his policy proposals. But it has everything to do with money.
