Letter From The President (XXI): A rare presidential prayer for Korle Bu

Countrymen and women, loyalists and ‘against’ people,
I hope you are all fine and that you didn’t loosen your belts whilst I was away. Thanks for keeping the faith and keeping your belts tight even though you know that mine has been loosened by several knots to help me accommodate my ever-growing paunch.

I returned from my sojourn in the orient to a flurry of celebrations back home, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital to be precise. I have gleefully joined in the celebrations, even though I shudder to go near the hospital. Looking at the sort of decay at Korle Bu, I was thinking that the doctors and nurses at the hospital will set aside the month of October for weeping and wailing in sack cloth. But, hey, Ghanaians love to celebrate failures and retrogression.
