Mahama & Quakyi: The Giants To Be Celebrated

Mahama & Quakyi: The Giants To Be Celebrated In The Communication Sector?……Hoooraay!!!

Monday, On the date of 9th September 2013 the Chairman of the NDC, UK-Ireland branch, Mr. Horace Ankrah on Multi-TV AM-talk show described H.E John Dramani Mahama as “ digital president with business mind” that is per his passion in using technology and working for the betterment of the people of Ghana and beyond. The undeniable seasoned politician, Chairman Horace Ankrah also says “Ghana needs a leader not a politician” which president Mahama has realized hence leading us rather than being a partisan politician. And further iterate the point by saying that that is exactly what Ghanaians needs currently from the president.
Affirmatively, the passion and the love H.E John Dramani Mahama has developed for technology is certainly enormous and much to be desired.
During President Mahama’s first term of Office as an MP he was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Communications, and subsequently appointed substantive Minister.
He was the first Chairman of the National Communications Authority and in that capacity played a key role in shaping Ghana's telecommunications sector after deregulation.
The visions and the aspiration of H.E John Dramani Mahama in the telecommunications sector are never allowed by the current seasoned politician, Honourable Kofi Totobi Quakyi to die off. As Mr. Quakyi is rather going the extra-mile in the execution of his duties as National Communication Authority Board Chairman.
Honourable Kofi Totobi Quakyi is a well-known Ghanaian public figure, over 35 years of continuous experience in national and international politics as well as managerial leadership public service with extensive knowledge in communication, security and governance issues
One of the most remarkable achievements by Honourable Kofi Totobi Quakyi that I can quickly lay my hands on right now. Is during the last 2012 general election the National Communication Authority Board Chairman, Honourable Kofi Totobi Quakyi, said emphatically that no person or groups of persons would be allowed to cause panic or spread fear in the country during and after the presidential and parliamentary elections.

Mr. Quakyi, said in line with existing regulations, mobile network operators would be held liable for any threats to national security and stability emanating from communications generated from unregistered SIM card numbers.

Mr. Quakyi reminded mobile operators of their responsibility to ensure that the integrity of mobile phone users are verified especially at that crucial time of our country.

One most heartwarming statement Honourable Kofi Totobi Quakyi made was “Ghanaians have genuine concerns about peace during and after the elections and all must work to safeguard it,” he said.

Mr. Quakyi said it would be a terrible idea to allow a handful of political anarchists to use mobile phones and other form of communication technology for malicious purposes.
These positive directions given by Honourable Kofi Totobi Quakyi has undeniably contributed to yield dividend for mother Ghana that is to say without reservation that the 2012 general election was the most serene and peaceful election ever witnessed by the good people of Ghana and beyond.
Certainly, fresh in mind is the current sanctions meted on the mobile network service providers. Especially the MTN network due to their bad services to their customers which N.C.A (National Communication Authority) has described as “the service providers trying to short-change their customers”.
Kudos! H.E John Dramani Mahama & Honourable Kofi Totobi Quakyi for laying the foundation and building on it.
LONG LIVE MOTHER GHANA!
