OGA 90 supports alma mater

The 1990 Year Group of the Ghana Senior High Secondary School (GHANASCO) in Tamale popularly known as OGA 90 have donated study books totalling 5000 covering various subject areas to their alma mater at a colourful ceremony at the school in Tamale.
A refurbished streetlights project which was executed by the OGA 90 group was also officially commissioned by the group to lighten up the area.
Speaking at a colourful ceremony at the school in Tamale, the Chairman of the OGA 90 Group, Mr Kofi Atakole Ahmed disclosed that having completed the school some 25 years ago, it was only necessary for the group to support their alma mater with their widowsmite to facilitate teaching and learning in the school as part of showing appreciation to the school that played a crucial role in their lives.
Chairman Kofi disclosed that the membership of the group consisted of persons who completed Ordinary level in the school in 1990 and live in both Ghana and abroad. He explained that the current donation was made possible by members of the group inside and outside the country who are working in various fields with support from the Rotary Club of Ghana.
The Headmistress of the School, Madam Mary Asobayire on behalf of board, staff, students and parents of the school thanked OGA 90 for their laudable initiative and said that the book donation from them was the highest donation of books ever done by any year group to the school and asked other year groups to emulate the OGA 90 Group. She disclosed that the school was saddled with lots of challenges and supports like given to the school by the group was most appreciated.
Mr. Iddrisu Iddi, Chairman of the Parents Teachers Association of the School thanked OGA 90 for not abandoning their alma mater and still thinks of the school several years after leaving the school. He commended the togetherness of the group and prayed that God should bless them in all our endeavours.

The National President of The Old Ghanascans Association, Mr Bernard Imoro thank the group for their gesture and urged the continuing students to emulate the gesture of 0GA 90 and not forget to give back to the school in future. He advised the students to take good care of the books and be natural watchmen over the street lights to ensure that they derive maximum benefit from it.
It must be explained that the OGA 90 Group also supported the registration of the students to the National Health Insurance Scheme free of charge for the students.
