Of agent provocateurs and desperados

The NDC has a very simple plan to destroy the NPP. Defeat is staring them in the face and so like a drowning man, what is left to keep them afloat is to grab any available straw dangling on the river. The NDC has set fire burning in the NPP camp and in order to keep the fire burning, all what they need to do is to pour more petrol into it. Pretend to be one of them and warm yourself into their mist and knock their heads together. All the fracases that have been happening at the NPP Headquarters are the handiworks of the NDC.

In 2012, the NDC seized every opportunity to attack and take the flagbearer of the NPP Nana Akufo Addo to the cleaners. That trick worked to perfection because it distracted the NPP while they concentrated their effort to rig the election with a willing Afari Gyan. In some constituencies like Nkoranza South, NDC parliamentary candidates openly told their supporters at rallies the number of votes that they would use to beat the NPP candidates. True to their predictions, the figures were almost the same. Everything went on at the blind side of the NPP. When the election results were challenged at the Supreme Court, it became clear that the elections were rigged. The split decision which came out of the Supreme Court ruling exposed the EC and turned Afari Gyan into a laughing stock. But for Atuguba who clandestinely threw his support behind the other four judges who upheld the results declared by Afari Gyan, John Mahama would not have been the President of Ghana today. As if God wanted to expose the dirty works of some judges in Ghana, Anas’ exposure of the filth and corruption in the judiciary and judges in particular has opened our eyes about the behavior of some judges. Victoria Hammer, the sacked Deputy Information Minister did a good job for Ghanaians when she was caught on tape telling somebody that Madam Oye Lithur played a role in the rubbished Supreme Court ruling.

The NDC knows very well that this time around they cannot work their way through the EC and so they have decided to disintegrate the NPP for political gains. If the NPP leadership allows these looters of state coffers to succeed, Ghanaians will never forgive the party. The Akans say if the tree opens up, bees will enter to make honey in the openings. Come to think of this: A great political party like the NPP which has ruled this country for eight years cannot install CCTV cameras in its party headquarters; don’t you think they have opened up for bees to enter to make honey? If the party headquarters had CCTV cameras, the hooligans in military and police uniforms who stormed the place would have been exposed. The leadership of the NPP should sit up because more of such raids will be coming in the run-up to the 2016 elections.

Cadres and senior members of the NDC had their trainings in countries like Bulgaria, Cuba, Russia, Libya and others which are well versed in the art of throwing confusion into the camp of their political opponents. There is this bird called “Anoma Kokonekone” in the Akan language. The Akans say this particular bird will go upstream to muddy the water and quickly fly downstream to complain that somebody had muddied the water. When some of the cadres were taken to the above mentioned countries by the defunct PNDC regime, they were taught among others how to operate as Agent Provocateurs. They returned to prop up the PNDC. Today, they are still around and working tirelessly to prop up the John Mahama administration. It is an undeniable fact that John Mahama and his cohorts are fabulously rich and as such they can easily pay these former cadres to do the dirty job.

Politics today in Ghana has come a long way from the days of ‘twoobooi’ to the boardroom where everything is planned and executed. If the NPP thinks because of the hash economic realities that the nation is facing now and the dumsor menace will make election 2016 a done deal, then I am sorry, they are mistaken. John Mahama and his cohorts know very well that if they lose the 2016 elections, skeletons that would be removed from their cupboards will shock the entire world and heads will roll. They know, with Nana Addo at the helm of affairs, things will not go smooth for them hence the daily attempts to destroy the NPP.

The NDC must be stopped in their tracks because they are acting like Agent Provocateurs. An Agent Provocateur (French “Inciting Agent”) is a person who commits or who acts to entice another person to commit an illegal or rash act or falsely implicate them in partaking in an illegal act. An Agent Provocateur may be acting out of his own sense of duty or may be employed by the government or police to discredit or harm another group by provoking them to commit crime, thus undermining a protest or demonstration as a whole. The so – called ex-service hooligans who invaded the NPP Headquarters are typical example of Agent Provocateurs. If the government says it has no hand in the whole drama why are all the government communicators silent over the accusation? How come a group of persons could lay hands on military and police vehicles to embark on such a criminal act? When the story broke out we were made to understand that the so-called ex-service men seized some weapons from the offices of the NPP but sadly no one is talking about it again. And to add insult to injury, the arms purported to have been seized from the NPP Headquarters were outmoded and out of use SMGs. Who in his right sense of mind will use his money to buy a weapon that cannot be used?

To prevent infiltration by Agent Provocateurs, an organization like the NPP must deploy and co-ordinate “Demonstration Marshals” to counter such Agent Provocateurs. Much as the 2016 battle would be on the political turf, the NPP should also fight the battle on the drawing board. There is the need for the party to brace up for the worse scenario since the NDC is now acting like a bruised snake. Remember it was the NDC in power that introduced “Shit Bombing” and the killing of women in the national capital.

The Akans say a person who can eat a crab can as well eat calabash. If extra care is not taken and security at the NPP Headquarters is not tightened, the likes of ex-service men who invaded the party Headquarters could plant cocaine in one of the offices and turn around to enter the premises with a search warrant. Chairman Freddy Blay should as a matter of emergency order all leading members of the NPP to install CCTV cameras in their homes and offices because once bitten, twice shy (Nea owo aka no suro sonson)

In the 19th century the Wild West in America used to be dominated by notorious desperados. They were bold and violent outlaw criminals. In fact, they were seen almost everywhere with their pistols in holsters dangling on their waists. The word is a pseudo Spanish alteration of DESPERATE. They feared nothing as they kept on marauding and maiming innocent persons. Desperados were not afraid of being hurt or caught. The NDC can be likened to these desperados of the 19th century. They know the NPP has wised up after the Supreme Court ruling and as such the party will not leave any stone unturned in the run-up to Election 2016. In fact, they know the NPP will not go to court again but will rather marshal all forces to man the polling stations with eagle eyes so that no Jupiter could dare rig the election in favour of the NDC.

Crushing The Spies Within

Nana Akufo Addo, the standard flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party has served notice that the party will crush spies in the party. This notice was served in far away London where the party organized a fundraising ceremony towards Election 2016. It is heartwarming and soothing to hear Nana. Nana did not make the statement out of the vacuum. The man knows what he was saying. Even those of us who are not in the inner circle know very well that some people in the party have compromised and are selling party secrets for a pittance. These shameless and faceless persons should quickly recoil into their shelves because this is not the time for niceties and misguided politeness. This is the time for serious work since the party cannot afford to disappoint Ghanaians who are looking forward to a government that will come to bring them out of the deep pit that they have found themselves. In fact, the party will never suffer fools so gladly. See the fanfare when the Power Barge arrived! And Dr. Donkor said it will not be able to solve the Dumsorlogy? TWEAAA!
