Open Letter To Parliament And Govt of Ghana

The executive and general membership of Ghana Leadership Union (GLU) would like to thank as well as congratulate the Parliament and Government of Ghana for passing the Representation of the Peoples? Amendment Bill into an Act of Parliament on February 23, 2006...

It is a feather in the cup of the Government of Ghana to extend democracy to all qualified Ghanaians to exercise their God-given right and political responsibility to vote in general elections and referenda. We now feel that the right of the Ghanaians who are mostly studying or working in the Diaspora out of need and human necessity, which was clandestinely and so unjustly taken away by PNDCL 284, has now been restored. We applaud the courage and bravery of the Parliament to pass this Bill to restore the original intentions of our Constitution. Ghana Leadership Union hereby register our support in affirming that Ghana is for all Ghanaians wherever we live, and we will do our best to unite our people, share resource knowledge and information, and help put them on the right path and stewardship of leadership to push our country forward..

Ghana Leadership Union therefore commends our gallant Parliamentarians for their resolve in not feeling demoralized by the threats of war and indiscipline of others, and pray that Parliament will use the same energy and resolve to pass the Right to information Bill, reform our education, and solve the acute water shortage problems and the many problems that cripple Ghana?s economy.

Yours in the Service of Ghana

Okyere Bonna Secretary, Ghana Leadership Union

Kwaku A. Danso
