Petition To NPP Delegates

: Think Victory, Reject Arrogant Kwabena Agyepong

The New Patriotic Party is better placed to win the 2016 elections considering the re-structuring that is currently being undertaken by the party, coupled with the mismanagement of the economy, incompetence showed by President John Dramani Mahama and his NDC government and its attendant worsening of the standards of living of the ordinary Ghanaian.

In just five years under the NDC government, there has been a reversal of all the gains chalked by the government of H.E. John Agyekum Kufuor from 2001 to 2008. Everything is in chaos! The NHIS is collapsing, School Feeding Programme almost non-existent, the cedi rapidly depreciating against every major currency, petroleum and utility hikes, cost of goods and services are increasing daily, amongst others.

However, if we, as a party, are to fulfil our destiny as emerging victorious in 2016 and rescuing this nation from the despondency it has been plunged into, we cannot afford to have elected, arrogant national executives who will “put off” the floating voter.

Kwabena Agyepong, who is aspiring to become the next General Secretary of the NPP is an epitome of arrogance. He exudes arrogance in his gestures, mannerisms and through the words that proceed from his mouth, regardless of whoever he is talking with.

We can ill-afford such persons to be elected as the General Secretary of the NPP.

When touring the Northern Region, Kwabena Agyepong described the current leadership of the party as “diapers wearing and pampers wearing” executives who have no clue as to how to manage the party.

In another interaction with delegates, Kwabena Agyepong made the bold claim that if the NPP was to be broken down into parts, “I would get an equal share as President Kufuor and Nana Akufo-Addo.””

Is this a man we want at the helm of leadership of the NPP?

Another typical example of this arrogance was displayed when he went to file his documents on Monday, 10th February 2014 at the National Headquarters of the party. He made it clear that “I know you at the headquarters are working against me. But whether you like it or not, I will take over and there is nothing you or anyone can do about it.” Kwabena Agyepong, made it clear through his entourage that he will “fire” everyone who works at the national headquarters even those who were employed by Agyenim Boateng, Dan Botwe and Ohene Ntow.

He has not won an election, and he is already threatening to rain fire and brimstone on workers at the party headquarters he believes are not for him. Is this a man who is “thinking about victory” in 2016? This is a man on an agenda and victory for the NPP in 2016 is certainly not part of his agenda.

Delegates of the New Patriotic Party should NOT make the mistake of voting for someone who will turn away the 4% of floating voters we need to ensure we win the 2016 elections. That mistake should not be made, lest we live to rue a missed opportunity in 2016.
