Poem: The Pipeline Cacophonies

I
The sun shall shine sublimely through
The thick dark clouds over our heads.
Don’t despair, wail not into gloom,
Undress the laments that clothe you.
Men, tighten your loose belts.
Women, adjust your tilted headgears
For the economic gears are shifting,
Shifting vigorously for a sound take off,
Only rejoice in these hard times.
All the goodies you yearn for
Are in the pipelines, they will
Burst forth to soothe your woes.
Just arrest your raging patience.
II
I wonder when these people shall stop
Showering sham hope when much must be
Done. The pipelines of goodies are already
Choked, yes, choked with stinking filth.
They tell us to watch and pray for good times.
Yet they wine and dine with gold plated
Cutlery. Their mouths speak of lofty
Things yet they have little to show for
Their ghost successes. Enough of the pipeline
Cacophonies and let there be real progress.
