Politics Of The Gutter

In the 21st Century when we should be working together, irrespective of our political views to develop our Country, we rather seem to be developing more negative styles of Politics. We have not moved away from the infantile approach to politics of the past when your enemy’s best effort are not worth anything, just because they belong to the other Party.

There are some NPP supporters who will never see anything good from Nkrumah’s era, while some CPP members will never acknowledge that Nkrumah made mistakes yet both are wrong. Is that what we want in this Century when other nations are working together irrespective of their politics to develop their Countries.

We are determined to attack our Politicians with lies, recently some people attacked Paa Kwesi Nduom of the CPP with half baked information and to make matters worst, the offenders were mainly from his own Party. What sort of people are we? We complain about lack of Public Servants and then when some decides to go ahead to get involve, the “ Pull Him or Her Down” brigade attack them with false information.

I am not naive to be fantasising about love me, love you Politics, I know Politics can be a tough game but doesn’t have to be dirty. We seem not interested in asking questions about the policies that are being thrown around but rather more interested in lies, more lies and more lies about personalities.

Let us engage our Political Parties by challenging them on their policies and make sure that what they are proposing are workable and relevant for the nation. I am not a CPP supporter and tend to trouble one of their leading supporters here in London, but I have great respect for him and their team because they are always pushing their policies, even when you refused to accept them. The way they even handled the attack on Paa Kwesi showed some maturity.

Nana Konadu’s attack on William Nana Akuffo-Addo is not only infantile but offensive, because it exposes the desperation of the NDC Party. In this modern age of Communication, a simple phone call to the Bar Council of England & Wales will have confirmed that he was called to the Bar through Middle Temple in July 1971. Is the NDC or the Secretariat of Nana Konadu lacking basic investigative knowledge? Nana Konadu could have asked the daughter who is training to be a Barrister in the UK to check this fact for her, but as usual she attacks before thinking. Her husband also went on the attack recently with some false information just to stir things. What a couple? Good luck to the NDC because they are stuck with them.

I pray that all the Political Parties will surely attack each others policies and leave false personal attacks out of the game. We need to understand the policies that are being suggested so that we can question things and make sure we hold them accountable

It has been confirmed by both Bar Councils in Ghana and England & Wales that he is a Lawyer. Will Nana Konadu have the decency to retract her accusation? I will have to wait for the seas to dry.

NDC SUPPORTERS ALL OVER THE WORLD, ESPECIALLY THE YOUTH WING OF THE UK, PLEASE NOTE THAT WILLIAM NANA AKUFFO-ADDO WAS CALLED TO THE ENGLAND & WALES BAR THROUGH THE MIDDLE TEMPLE IN JULY 1971. PLEASE ADVISE NANA KONADU OF THE FACT . SIMPLE PHONE CALL TO THE BAR COUNCIL WILL PROVE THAT TO YOU.
