Most leading members of the opposition NPP did not take kindly to the remarks of President John Mahama who told NDC supporters in Kumasi that there will be no “All-die-be-die during the December 7th general elections in 2012.
One such personality is Mr. Gabby Asare Otchere Darko, Executive Director of the infamous Danquah Institute. He is a man who has a penchant for always defending the indefensible since the country returned to constitutional rule in 1992.
With their back against the wall, after constant bashing by peace loving Ghanaians, the NPP has explained that the mantra was in reaction to the omissions and commissions under the NDC government that have seen NPP members and supporters VICTIMISED and IGNORED. The statement added that but for a man like Akuffo Addo who made his name in politics for three decades ago for standing up bravely without weapons against OPPRESSION and REPRESSION, was Akuffo Addo expected to stay mute while his people suffered under a constitutional dispensation. Fair enough. What I want to ask Mr. Otchere Darko is this, In a constitutional dispensation, do civilians have the right to erect barricades and search the vehicles of ruling government officials of the NDC in a bye election as NPP supporters did at Atiwa with impunity? When Nana Akuffo Addo was elected as the Member of Parliament for the Abuakwa South Constituency on the ticket of the NPP in 2004, he personally led NPP thugs to burn down the NDC Constituency office at Kyebi with impunity. Is such a man a true democrat? Can such a violent hot head lead Ghana as a President? Does he believe in democracy as he claims? Mr. Gabby Asare Otchere Darko is only throwing dust into the eyes of Ghanaians period. Once again, Nana Akuffo chased out all NDC members into the bush during the 2008 general elections and instructed all landlords at Kyebi NOT to rent their houses to NDC members to be used as their constituency office in that town. However, when Nana Akuffo Addo visited the Volta Region in his campaign trail, he advised Voltarians to avoid their ONE WAY VOTING. Why didn’t he advise the Ashantis and Akyems to avoid their ONE WAY VOTING FIRST before going to advise the Voltarians in their region?
Nana Akuffo Addo is a very confused and frustrated violent politician who will be retired from active politics by President John Mahama on 7th Dec. 2012 at all cost mark my words, it is because of his violent track record that will cost him the election in 2012. Ghana’s politics is still to an extent being influenced by ethnicity and the NPP led by Nana Akuffo Addo is encouraging it because it was handed over to them from father to son that is why the NPP always boast that if you put their party’s flag around the neck of a sheep, it will win an, election on the party’s ticket in the Ashanti Region. This time round, if the NPP puts a flag around the neck of any sheep, NDC members will rather slaughter it and use its meat to perform the final funeral rites of the late President J.E.A. Mills of blessed memory in December 2012. This is nonsensical, because if Ghanaians decide to vote along ethnic lines, the nation can never get a President at all. We must all move away from ethnic politics and see ourselves as one People, one Nation and one Destiny. This is the only way that Ghana will develop as a peaceful Nation for generations yet unborn. Is Gabby Asare Otechere Darko listening to my rich advice? Was he really in Ghana in 2004 and during the 2008 general elections and saw how the NPP conducted its high –tech election campaign with Nana Akuffo Addo using a motor-cade as if he was already the President of Ghana, and that the election was only a mere formality? Enough is Enough. Was it not Nana Akuffo who incited the fire eating NPP youth to misbehave that way during the Atiwa bye election by shamefully saying on radio and T.V. that, even at Atiwa, we showed our bravery there, because some people say that “we Akans fear blood shed, it is a lie, you have done well by showing the ruling NDC government that you are brave, amidst cheers from his innocent looking supporters who Akuffo Addo want them to die in their numbers for him to become Ghana’s president? Amidst cheers once again, he added “All –die-be-die. At Atiwa, we showed them (the NDC) something small. It is very true that Nana Akuffo Addo has been a violent politician for three decades always inciting innocent Ghanaians to fight the police and meet their untimely deaths E.G. The “Kume Preko” demonstrations against the implementation of VAT in 1995 where four young men died, and yet when NPP came to power in 2001, they rather increased the VAT rate to 17½% and no body demonstrated against them, so is that the main reason why the NPP always claim falsely that Ghana belong to them more than any other political party or ethnic group, I beg to ask? Mr. Otchere Darko further went on the State that over 800 Abudus and Pro-NPP residents of Tamale got their houses burnt and some brutally assaulted in 2009 and the perpetrators were identified but never apprehended. He again cited a case of a day light brutal murder at Agblogloshie, a suburb of Accra, near a Police station and yet the NDC government took no action or the police also refused to take action when NPP supporters were at the receiving end of violence – Jesus Christ! Is Mr. Gabby Otchere Darko a stranger in Ghana or what?
Let me remind and educate him free of charge
Here we go: In 1969, under Prime Minister Kofi Abrefa Busia, 69 people were shot and killed at the Ya-Naa’s palace which is a stone’s throw from the Yendi police station – Nothing happened as they were treated like fowls and animals in the same chieftaincy conflict between the Abudus and Andanis.
In March 2002. 40 sub chiefs and the Ya-Naa were rounded up by gun wielding, trained strange men and shot dead in broad day light at Ya-Naas palace. All communication links at Yendi were disconnected but when the then Interior Minister of the Kuffour’s NPP government was contacted by the media, he told Ghanaians that there was no any fighting in Yendi, his own constituency. The former vice President under the NPP government went and transported his mother to Accra, three days before the 3 days of War that took place at Yendi when the police and the army were is instructed by the NPP government NOT TO INTERVENE to protect lives and property while a certain Senior military officer also told Ghanaians that the iron wheels (tracks) of their armoured cars had punctures. Wasn’t it strange for that army officer to say that during the NPP era? So what at all is Gabby Otchere Darko really talking about? NDC members were constantly treated as 3rd class citizens by the NPP gov’t from (2001-2008. Nana Akuffo Addo, the flagbearer of the NPP today 2012, was the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice at that time the culprits were all identified with one of them hanging the late Ya-Naa’s servered arm like a chain hanging on his neck. But Nana Akuffo Addo prepared wrong charges against all of them and they were acquitted and discharged by the court and several often left the country simply because the murderers were all card bearing members of his party the NPP. Which is a bigger crime, those NPP members who were allegedly assaulted by NDC members, treated and discharged or those sub-chiefs and the Ya-Naa who were brutally shot dead in 3 days of fighting in Yendi while the NPP government told Ghanaians that there was nothing happening in that town? Why is it that whenever the Danquah/Busia politicians come to power they go to Yendi and kill the Ya-Naa and his sub chiefs always.
For your information. President John Mahama is not confrontational and will never encourage violence, so NDC members will surely vote massively for him and NPP members will also vote massively for Nana Akuffo Addo but we have the floating voters who constitute 30% of the voter population in Ghana and they would all vote for President Mahama, the man of peace, rather than vote for Nana Akuffo Addo, the hot headed war monger and tribal bigot whose arrogance has surpassed all Ghanaians in this country- is that clear? Mr. Gabby Otchere Darko? Meanwhile, a white dove was sent by God to perch on the shoulder of President John Mahama. White doves are symbols of peace world wide and John Mahama is heir to the late President J.E.A Mills of blessed memory, so it is a done deal for John Mahama as God has chosen him already. One day, a red dove will also perch on the shoulder of Nana Akuffo Addo before the December 7th elections also signifying bloodshed and War- you mark my words, and since Ghanaians cherish peace – Nana Akuffo Addo will surely be retired by John Mahama at all cost because we do not want a President whose ministers would use “pataapaa” to abrogate several foreign and local contracts and incur billions of Ghana cedis, dollars and Euros debt for future governments to pay as Ex-Prez. Kufour’s government did from 2001-2008 and when the NDC under the late Prez. Mills was paying these judgment debts incurred by the NPP under Kufour, the same NPP members now in opposition are describing the NDC government as corrupt for paying the very debts that the NPP left behind. Mr. Gabby Otchere Darko and his NPP must give us a break for we are fed up with their fat lies and half truths meant to throw dust into the eyes of innocent Ghanaian Youth.
Mr. Otchere Darko- please come again and condemn President Mahama and we see.
Look here, the late Prez. Mills was my man, in his absence John Mahama is my man now Also let him become your man as well as your family and friends for a Better Ghana. Is anybody listening? I am done. “Jaanbie Iwaii” Aluta Continua!
