Press Conference By NDC UK & Ireland Chapter

Today the Apex court of our country ruled on the Election petition of the 2012 Election and the Status Quo have been maintained.

The 2012 election was seen as the most transparent and credible of all the elections in the 4th republic. Strangely the declaration of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama was challenged in the Supreme Court by the NPP.

Today justice has been served and the declaration of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama by the Electoral Commissioner has been ruled to be duly and valid by the Supreme Court.

The petitioners sort to win the 2012 election at all cost, and so going to court and asking the court to annul votes so that Nana Akufo Addo becomes president was one of the paths they took.

The election petition has slowed down productivity in Ghana. Output has dropped as investors both home and abroad adopted the wait and see attitude. Now that the verdict has been delivered, and the uncertainty removed, we can all rally behind the President, work hard in this new beginning of our country to push Ghana to her rightful place on the global stage.

We can no longer say 'no justice, no peace' because Justice has been served by the Apex court of our country. So therefore we must all unite and live peacefully with every one, irrespective of political affiliation, religion, or creed.

Let us all double up, energize ourselves and help President John Mahama.

We want to thank the Supreme Court Judges for their leadership throughout this process, the petitioners, respondents and their counsel for the way they conducted themselves throughout the process.

Special thanks to the security services and above all the people of Ghana for their tolerance and patience.

Long live Ghana, long live the NDC and Long live President John Dramani Mahama.
