In a bid to champion climate education and sustainability, Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim, the reigning Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2024, launched the transformative Sweet Smiles Initiative to mark Ghana’s National Chocolate Day.
The event, hosted at Khariyyah Islamic Basic School and Osu Salem Road JHS, was a dynamic platform to inspire climate-conscious youth while celebrating Ghana’s rich cocoa heritage.
Collaborating with Future Leaders Model United Nations, AT, Yes She Can Foundation, and Vision Recycling, the initiative went beyond rhetoric, engaging students in interactive learning, recycling workshops, and sustainability training. At the heart of her message, Queen Titiaka emphasized that safeguarding Ghana’s cocoa production starts with environmental responsibility.
Queen Titiaka engaged the students in insightful discussions on the threats climate change poses to cocoa farming, emphasizing the dangers of deforestation, pollution, and unsustainable agricultural practices. She urged them to take proactive steps such as planting trees to restore ecosystems, participating in waste management through recycling and plastic reduction, and adopting sustainable farming practices to preserve soil fertility and protect the cocoa industry.
The event’s highlight was a hands-on recycling and upcycling session, where students creatively transformed waste into useful items, reinforcing the importance of sustainability through innovation.
While her mission for environmental sustainability remains unwavering, Queen Titiaka also used the platform to advocate for quality education in underserved communities. She passionately called on corporate Ghana and philanthropists to support her vision of constructing a 3-Unit Classroom Block in the Savannah Region, ensuring that every child has access to a conducive learning environment.
Since winning the GMB 2024 crown, Queen Titiaka has led several impactful social initiatives, seamlessly blending beauty with purpose. On January 1, 2025, she hosted the New Year Feast at Rising Star Orphanage in Dodowa, where she provided essential supplies, educational materials, and climate education to orphaned children, creating a memorable and uplifting experience.
Later, in mid-January, she embarked on the Basic School Climate Action Engagement Tour across schools in the Savannah Region, conducting a three-day outreach focused on climate change mitigation, tree planting, and literacy promotion. As part of this initiative, she also distributed 2,000 books, reinforcing her commitment to education, environmental sustainability, and youth empowerment.
The Sweet Smiles Initiative is a testament to Queen Titiaka’s unwavering commitment to climate education, sustainability, and youth empowerment. Her call for corporate, governmental, and private sector support is critical to expanding initiatives that drive long-term climate resilience and social development.
As she continues her reign as Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2024, Nihad Titiaka Oases Ibrahim is proving that her mission transcends pageantry, he is leading a transformative movement for a greener, more educated, and sustainable Ghana.
