VIP transport whose traditional color is red has carved a niche for itself in the transport industry. They have made travelling a very comfortable experience with their fully air conditioned buses and seats that you can adjust for relaxation.
The company has helped to erase the stress of having to sit long hours from Accra to Kumasi. They have also helped to transport people safely to their destinations. V.I.P is full of praise from me, but the praises are short lived. The standards of the company are falling by the passing day. Like all Ghanaian owned companies they start well with good customer relations and excellent services. When the company begins to expand then they tend to be pompous and virtually disrespect their customers. Drivers do not even value the customers anymore. Some of the drivers of these buses now drive as if they own the roads and disregard other road users.
There was a case of a driver of a VIP bus stopping in the middle of the road at the Boadi round about in Kumasi on the 24th March 2013 at 3:15pm. The said driver’s bus registration number is GS 3326 – 10. This driver in question hit the back of a taxi cab and carelessly crossed the taxi cab in order to stop the taxi. He did not even take into consideration the lives of the people on board the bus. The driver of the said bus also ignorantly stepped out of his bus to engage in an argument with the taxi cab driver over something that was clearly his fault. The traffic was brought to a standstill for 10 minutes as this bus driver displayed his ignorance to onlookers who were amazed at the behavior of the bus driver. This prompted some of the drivers of other vehicles to come out and admonish the bus driver for his utter disregard for human life.
This is a driver holding the lives of 31 people but completely ignores this to engage in a police and thief style of driving. V.I.P transport, kudos to you, but don’t let the behavior of a few bad nuts like this driver spoil the company’s hard earned reputation.
I also suggest you post phone numbers behind your buses which will give opportunities to lodge complains in case of reckless driving.
