Retired but Bitter and Vindictive: The Agenda of ACP/Rtd Dr. Benjamin Agordzo for and on behalf of his corrupt/preferred choices for the Office of IGP

ACP/Rtd Dr. Benjamin Agordzo's recent actions and assertions have raised concerns about his intentions and motivations. It appears that Dr. Agordzo is using the media to cause chaos and instability within the police service.

His goal seemingly is not only to incite junior ranks to stage riots against the Inspector General of Police, but to create lawlessness in the ranks and file of the Police Service to pave way for one of his preferred Commissioners to assume the mandate of IGP so they can resuscitate the once upon a time agenda of corruption for wealth accumulation at the highest level of the Service.

This vindictive approach is not only unprofessional but a calculated step to demonstrate his crave for relevance when obviously he has no remarkable legacy upcoming personnel within the ranks and file of the Service can reference as baseline achievement to benchmark their actions and delivery in shaping democratic policing for the common good of the citizenry. Adding to the fact that his actions undermines the discipline and systemic structures of the police service.

It is worth noting that, Dr. Agordzo's actions are driven by personal grievances rather than exhibiting genuine concerns for the welfare of police personnel and improving performance that will translate into providing enhanced security and safety for indigenes across the country.

To expose Dr. Agordzo, whose actions is driven by malice and hatred, it is trite to note that in the year 2017 whilst he was the Director of Police Transformation, and at the time Chief Superintendent of Police his outfit which was and still housed in the Joint Operations Center alongside Communications Unit and Operations Department, operated under same roof when the affable, workaholic, creative, and goal oriented Inspector General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare was appointed Director General of Operations.

In same year when Dr. Agordzo Rtd. was elevated to the rank of ACP, he displayed his bitterness by purchasing a padlock to lock up the washrooms meant for use by personnel within the building purposely to punish Junior Ranks who were serving under the IGP who was Director General of Operations at the time.

It will interest you to know that he categorically told the personnel in the presence of a colleague ACP that they were all Commissioners henceforth as a result, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, should find a place of convenience for personnel serving under him.

What Dr. Agordzo failed to realize was that his actions sent signals that he was not a leader but a bitter person since the facility was not his property neither was it an inheritance from his ancestral lineage but Police property meant for use by all personnel.

Furthermore, Dr. Agordzo has not learned from his past mistakes. His history of making pronouncements without considering the consequences, and having recourse to applying the rule of relying on first hand information but heresay has further undermined his credibility thereby questioning his integrity being.

In fact, he was previously charged with treason at a time the current IGP was not at the helm of affairs. That points to the fact that he associates himself with all manner of characters for the purposes of attention seeking.

Dr. Agordzo's continuous use of the media to spread falsehoods is clearly to escalate discontent and instability within the police service just to damage the progress of the Service.

His actions will not achieve any meaningful change, but rather create chaos and undermine the authority of the police service.

It is essential for Dr. Agordzo to reflect on his actions and consider the impact they have on the police service and the country as a whole.

His experience and knowledge if any, could be better channeled to support the development of the police service rather than causing instability and chaos.

In conclusion, Dr. Agordzo's agenda is clear: to use the media to cause chaos and instability within the police service.

However, his actions will only serve to discredit his reputation further and undermine the authority of the police service.

All well-meaning Ghanaians should not take him serious but condemn him.

If his intentions is a purpose to score favors from the incoming Administration, I urge the powers that be, to analyze his posturing and know what he and his associates are up to.

GOD bless our homeland Ghana and make our nation great and strong.
