Sammy Crabbe Must Resign or Be Removed!

Sammy Crabbe is a dishonest coward – a veritable poltroon, in Shakespearean speak – who ought not to have been elected to any cardinal office at the New Patriotic Party’s Asylum Down national headquarters. I remember the time, not very long ago, when he fled to Europe, I believe to Sweden, in order to evade responsibility for some of the mess he had helped Mr. Paul Afoko to create. It was this premeditated and well-orchestrated attempt at torpedoing the presidential ambitions of Nana Akufo-Addo, by the indefinitely suspended National Chairman of the party that predictably culminated in the very auspicious decision by the party’s National Excecutive Committee (NEC) to give Mr. Afoko the heave-ho. That was the real coup d’état that proved miserably abortive, if Mr. Crabbe wants to be pointed to a real one of its kind.

It well appears that the Kufuor-Kyerematen faction of the New Patriotic Party had woefully underestimated the will of the party’s majority delegates and membership not to have the Atwima Mafia/Cabal, choose your pick, hijack the party in chimerical hopes entrenching a Kufuor-Kyerematen dynasty. Just a couple of days ago, the party’s National Council (NC), its second-highest authoritative body, affirmed the decision by the NPP-NEC to indefinitely suspend Mr. Afoko who luridly, albeit unsuccessfully, attempted to concoct an alibi for his younger brother, Mr. Gregory Afoko, the prime suspect in the brutal acid-dousing assassination of Mr. Adams Mahama, then-Upper-East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party. That was also the real coup that charlatans and “friendly moles” like Mr. Crabbe would rather prefer to shove under the proverbial carpet of selective amnesia.
These rascals are being condignly haunted by the ghost of Mr. Mahama, thus their tandem exhibition of such lunacy as it is for them to believe that they can actually cavalierly disregard the Constitution, rules and regulations of the party and still be able to hold themselves out as legitimately elected executives of the country’s largest and most democratic political party. Mr. Crabbe says that he does not recognize the man appointed as Acting National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Freddie Blay. And yet Mr. Crabbe, who is constitutionally second-bananas to Mr. Blay, wants to be recognized in his official capacity as Second Vice-Chairman of the NPP (See “Crabbe: ‘I’ll Fight Any ‘Afoko-Style’ Action Against Me” Classfmonline.com / Ghanaweb.com 11/13/15). If this is not a striking exhibition of clinical insanity, somebody just tell me, what it is?

Already, Mr. Crabbe has vowed never to run for any executive office in the party, unless his indefinitely suspended former boss is returned to his former job of steadily and systematically laying down the breastwork for the defeat of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the 2016 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party. It is quite obvious who the instigators behind this domino strategy of wearing down the party and wasting precious time, in hopes of mischievously furthering the cause of their so-called Agenda 2020 program, are. The problem for these Atwima Mafiosi is that in the event of an Akufo-Addo defeat in the 2016 general election, there will be no New Patriotic Party to speak of. And should the party survive the 2016 general election, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will be the prime candidate to beat. And I sincerely don’t see former President Kufuor’s favorite steed coming anywhere near Dr. Bawumia.

And so, yes, the Kufuor-Kyerematen faction could well succeed in wreaking havoc on Nana Akufo-Addo’s parade, as it were; but it will not escape the bitter taste of its own poisonous brew. Well, Mr. Crabbe says he does not recognize any of the major organs, or bodies, of the party mandated with the charge of regulating the affairs of the New Patriotic Party. What this ought to clearly tell any serious NPP member and/or executive operative is the fact that Mr. Crabbe just tendered his resignation. In essence, there is absolutely no need for the NPP-NEC or the party’s National Council (NC) to wait for any petitions against the gross misconduct of the party’s Second Vice-Chairman before showing Mr. Crabbe the exit door out of the party’s headquarters.
