Shame on University of Ghana lecturers campaigning for John Mahama and NDC

John Dramani Mahama John Dramani Mahama

A strong team of University of Ghana (UG) lecturers has energetically started campaigning for Mr. John Dramani Mahama and the NDC to win the 2024 election. This team of lecturers went to Dome Kwabenya on October 15, 2024, determined to win the parliamentary seat from the NPP for Elikplim Akurugu, a candidate running on the NDC ticket.

While they have the right to campaign for any political party or individual they choose, publicly stating that they will continue to advocate for Mahama and the NDC as UG lecturers is, in my opinion, very demeaning.

What exactly is Mr. Mahama's message going into the 2024 election? Is it not about providing small chicks, coops, and money to Ghanaians interested in poultry farming to improve their living standards? Is it not about his proposal for a 24-hour economy in Ghana, a concept that he and the NDC seem to have little understanding of?

Is it his plan to combat illegal small-scale mining using artificial intelligence (AI), despite his past support for illegal miners and his promise to pardon those who have been prosecuted and imprisoned if he wins the upcoming election?

I challenge these lecturers to explain how Mr. Mahama will create a 24-hour economy in Ghana, a policy they seem to be promoting as a key strategy for winning the 2024 election. The explanations provided by Mr. Mahama, the NDC leadership, and their supporters have been nonsensical to many Ghanaians.

As highly educated individuals, how do you, UG lecturers, justify your support for this policy? A
24-hour economy is not something that can be created by a government or president alone; it is a systemic issue. How do you reconcile this with the vision of job creation through digitization and digitalization as outlined in Dr. Bawumia's 2024 manifesto?

I urge UG lecturers not to be misled by their political biases and to avoid deceiving the electorate with shallow policies and programs promised by Mr. Mahama. The free Senior High School education introduced by President Nana Akufo-Addo is a powerful tool in Dr. Bawumia's arsenal for winning the 2024 election.

Dome Kwabenya will remain with the NPP, and Dr. Bawumia will emerge victorious in the 2024 election, despite any attempts to mislead the public. Don't be swayed by UG lecturers who may not be entirely honest due to their strong NDC affiliations.
