In spite of the leader role presumably exhibited by "leaders" in society, The Ghanaian Youth in the Diaspora (GYiTD) has come to terms to understand that some members of the Ghanaian community including government officials and most importantly opposition members continually use emotive languages to incite violence.
To mention a few, members of both ruling party now government officials and opposition parties have engage in countless exchange of insults.
Recent tribal sentimental comments suggest that the future of the nation does not look promising for we the youth to take over when these "leader" or role models hand over to us:youth.
Sadly, these events have gain grounds in the modern day Ghanaian politics in the name of Democracy. To add salt to injury radio stations have also endorse this filthy act which can only turn our beloved nation into a failed state by encouraging serial callers to contribute without facts when making contributions towards topics for discussion. It is these platforms which help spread these violent taunts to the people.
On this note, after a careful survey based on the affairs of the country's practice of Democracy, the perceptions or views gathered from the Ghanaian public in the diaspora clearly indicate that politics in Ghana is becoming more appalling as each day pass.
For this reason the Ghanaian Youth in the Diaspora(GYiTD) deem it necessary to also join in the fight against this act as we get ready to go to the polls come 2012.
It is worth mentioning that giving the political stability the nation is enjoying, any act of war or violence can only hamper the growth of the economy. Petition: 1) We the Ghanaian Youth in the Diaspora call on the Ghana High Commission to intervene by helping to inform and or educate people about the affairs of the nation and how to appreciate each other as Ghanaians.
2) Community leaders and institutions also have a legitimate role to play in ensuring that they join in this fight against violent taunts.
3) We also call on the media houses most importantly to desist giving the platform to serial callers who contribute without facts.
thanks
