The Inside Edition of NPP Presidential Aspirants VII

The New Patriotic Party's (NPP) National Chairman Peter Mac Manu and Lord Oblitey Commey the Greater Accra Party Chairman are working in favor of one of the Presidential aspirants. This is wrong for those aspirants who are trying to ask the NPP delegates to give them the mandate of their party. After interviewing some delegates in recent parliamentarian candidate's nomination elections that were held in Odododoodo constituency in Accra, I found that Dan Kwaku Botwe the former general secretary who is now working on behalf of Nana Akufo Addo, is not an executive board member of the NPP and Lord Commey is now running the NPP party. Mac Manu, who is known to be the chairman, is not in charge of any decision-making, but Dan Kwaku Botwe and Lord Commey who have kept Mac Manu in the political closet as a puppet, they are the ones who dictate to Mac Manu what to do.

According to the information I got from the delegates, Lord Commey and Dan Kwaku Botwe have sidelined Nana Ohene Ntow from party activities and Lord Commey is the one calling all the shorts. These aforementioned individuals should maintain a high level of political neutrality to ensure that all the presidential aspirants will have fair elections in up coming national delegate?s elections in December 22, 2007. Instead they think they can pull a fast one for Akufo Addo during the up coming delegates elections to entrench him for the nomination.

The delegates are aware that these individuals are working for the former foreign Minister, Nana Akufo Addo win the delegate election. They believe that Akufo Addo is not a credible person to lead the country. A majority of the delegates I have discussion with believes that Alan Kyerematen is the best person to lead the country to the Promised Land. I asked why Alan Keyerematen? They said Keyrematen is very honest, humble and dedicated someone who has new ideas for the nation and their party. Most of all, they believe that among all the presidential wannabes, he is the only one who used his campaign platform to project their party?s image. They said he is a good product for the general elections in 2008; he is a very charismatic person and a storyteller who sees himself as servant and a team player for their party and the nation.

They said that Nana Akufo Addo is very devisive and arrogant and needs to take some anger management class, if he wants to become their presidential for the future but not 2008. I asked them why? They said after he lost the NPP presidents bide with Kufuor in 2000 he dumped all his followers and treated them like outcastes. In Kumasi I interviewed some delegates about the vice president Aliu Mahama who has done good work for the nation. They said he told them from the beginning of his term that if Kufuor?s term ends he would leave office with him together. This contradictory statement has become a political dilemma for the vice president. Some NPP constituency first vice and second vices who are leaning towards Aliu, said to me they hope and pray Aliu and Alan Kyerematen can team up and rule the nation. They said these individuals are very close friends with good track records for the nation. Some delegates emphasized that they will keep their eyes on Lord Commey and Dan Botwe so that they won't rig the elections for Akufo Addo in December. Akwasi Pratt Jr said on Peace FM Radio station while I was in Ghana that Alan Kyerematen would be the next president.

Many Ghanaians know Akwasi Pratt Jr. supports Akufo Addo but he affirms his decision that Akufo Addo could pose a threat to Alan if the delegate?s elections go the second round.
