The Inside Edition of NPP Presidential Aspirants VIII

The hour of picking a credible candidate to lead the NPP party to victory is near; this has resulted in an aggressive campaign style from some presidential aspirants who have performed poorly in their various constituencies and have now adopted a new strategy of preaching ethnicity on their campaign platforms all the time.

Recently, Yaw Osafo Maafo went to Kumasi and launched his campaign for the flagbearership race, in which he indicates that “let us be careful this is a party matter and has nothing to do with family or blood relationship. I urged the delegates not to view the flagbearership race through family or ethnic lenses”. Yaw Osafo Maafo’s assertions lack common sense; he is a hypocrite, a man who does not practice what he preaches. It was Osafo Maafo and his Akufo Addo who forms these gangsters within the NPP on tribal lines against John Agyekum Kuffor’s choice for the NPP chairmanship who is from Brong Ahafo. Now Osafo Maafo has the nerve to go to Kumasi and preach against ethnic politics while, his partner Akufo Addo’s also preaching about the NDC Koforidua congress issues now on his campaign platform. Akufo Addo is now saying the presidential race is not about Muslims or Christians. If it is not about these two, So what is this about? It is about only Akyem candidates then explain it to us. The Muslims have a right to lead the country too. These individuals who are preaching ethnic politics are following the British imperialist policy of “divide and rule”. We are seeing the effects of this nefarious policy up this date.

In addition, Yaw Osafo Maafo is acting like this is his first time to witness people with the same blood fighting to become president. History will establish that for the past 20 years in American political recitation people are with the same blood have become president from the second President and sixth president in the18th and 19th century till the present time. So Osafo Maafo, stop your dirty divisive ethnic politics. Based on my findings and conclusion of facts if one compares and contrasts Yaw Osafo Maafo’s performance as a Minister and Addo Kufuor’s ministerial performance, Addo Kufuor did a far more excellent job than Yaw Osafo Maafo. Addo Kufuor who represents my constituency at Manhayia did nothing at his constituency level, the same as Yaw Osafo Maafo’s constituency at Akyem Oda where he will never get a single vote from the delegates. He has neglected his constituency. Many people in his constituency at Oda are saying the only time they see Osafo Maafo is on the national television. The efforts of Yaw Osafo Maafo and Akufo Addo preaching ethnicity have reflected their growing ambition to elect someone from the Akyem areas. These individuals will not acknowledge that their preaching of ethnicity will anger other native’s delegates to vote against their egocentric tribal policies. This Osafo Maafo over the years has claimed Ghana’s economic achievements come from his idea which is never true. It was Dr Osei Akoto who uses his masterful brain behind the nation’s economic success. If it is true that Yaw Maafo was the pillar behind the Ministry of finance since Kufuor fired him from his government why is not the Ministry collapsing?. Yaw Osafo Maafo is the richest MP in the county who has used his position to enrich himself. The country does not need a self seeking politician who only is interested in his personal aggrandizement. Prof. Kwabena Frimpong Boateng the former, CEO of Korle-bu teaching hospital is struggling to woo the delegates to his side, especially in greater Accra Region. The majority of the delegates respect his achievement at the Kolabu Hospital as chief executive. They believe if he could continue to manage the nation’s top hospital well, that would be the best way to serve his country. The Vice President has gained grounds in the Ashanti region and in some parts of the Eastern Region. In the Volta Region some of the delegates are taking him seriously in his quest to lead the nation. Alan Kyerematen a candidate who is being singled out by the media and Peter Ala Adjetey of NPP and &co as their public enemy, has engaged a serious campaign in northern region as the man with a clear vision to become the next president according to credible sources from constituency chairman in the northern region. They said the country needs a man of God who will transcend the barriers of ethnic tribal differences that are planed. Kyerematen the man from the Central region is the man.
