First, let me console the teeming supporters of our National team, the Blackstars for our unfortunate loss to the USA National soccer team. We have lost the battle but the war is still not over. We still have two more games to play and as our gallant team members, Dede Ayew and Captain Gyan said, we can beat the Germans and Pourtigal and qualify for the next round. Let's keep hope alive. This is not the time to give up on our Players and Coach by insulting them. I believe they want to win more than we the supporters and we should give them our spiritual and morale support.
With that said, I am really upset with all these Politicians that have followed the team from Rotterdam, Holland to Miami USA and then to Brazil. What is Boateng Gyan, Afriyie Ankrah, Yammin and host of other Ndc political figures doing in the 70 strong Blackstars contingent? Were we not told sponsors were sending only 500 supporters to Brazil? According to Bright Adu Asare, the former Ndc Adenta Member of Parliament an a member of the World Cup Committee, about 500 supporters have been so far airlifted to Brazil who are already stranded in that country with accommodation problems but we are still thinking of sending more supporters to Brazil when those already there are having problems.
So how many supporters is Ghana government sending to Brazil? If we already have 500 supporters in Brazil, why is the government sending more? Can the government tell us how many supporters it is paying to send to Brazil?
According to Adu Asare, more than 100 Ndc Blackstars supporters are still stranded at the Kotoka International Airport waiting to go to Brazil. If we were able to raise enough money to send 500 already, who is going to pay for the extra over 100 supporters to Brazil? These NDC gallinippers sucking the blood of poor Ghanaian Taxpayers should be careful stealing our money with both hands.
It is reported each of these Supporters will cost the government $6000 to go to Brazil and 3 million dollars has already been paid to send 500 supporters whilst more than hundred are still waiting to be transported at a cost of more than $600,000 more.
The Brazil Embassy in Ghana reported that, more than seven thousand individual Ghanaians have been issued with Visas to go to Brazil to support the team and these are people with match tickets and and plane tickets who paid their own way. More than 3000 supporters from Europe and USA are also in Brazil cheering for our team not counting the ten thousand strong Ghanaians residing in Brazil some of who will go and cheer the team up so was this over three million dollars expense paid to bribe NDC foot soldiers to Brazil necessary?
A week ago I was listening to Peacefm Radio in Ghana soliciting for rain coats to be donated for the MTU department of the Ghana Police service because when Accra and other parts of Ghana was drenched, the Policemen and women were seen in the torrential rains directing traffic without raincoats. Fortunately 500 rain coats were donated which have been passed to the Police service, thank to Peacefm and all those Ghanaians who donated towards this cause.
The same Peacefm is asking Ghanaians to contribute towards the purchase of Incubators for our hospitals that don't have enough of these machines to protect our prematured and sick babies but the government don't have money to buy enough to protect the sanctity of lives of these babies but has money to send these lazy ass people most of them who don't even have fifty dollars in their names to Brazil to watch soccer matches.
Some of these people will return to Ghana without jobs and others will not come back at all. Will it not have been productive to use this money elsewhere instead of the expensive entertainment to poor Ndc supporters?
I watched the Ghana/USA match and I saw enough yellow with our Blackstars emblem. There were at least five thousand Ghanaians in the stadium who cheered our team on who paid their own way to Brazil. Sending the 500 or over 600 Ndc supporters to Brazil was a waste of our resources that should not be entertained.
