The NPP people are still searching for a needle in a haystack

When you listen to some NPP people discussing their party's political future, you won't take long to wonder whether they are really the liberal democrats that they portray themselves and want us to accept.
Even before Akufo-Addo could come out to say that he would contest the 2016 elections, many of us knew how his hirelings and lackeys were wetting the ground for him while he was vacationing in London after his humiliation by the electorate and the Supreme Court.
The former national executives of the party (Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie and Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey) led the pack, with PC Appiah-Ofori, Kennedy Agyapong, and Addo Kufuor, and Amoako-Tuffuor in tow to sing themselves hoarse that no other candidate but Akufo-Addo would be the flagbearer.
Those interested in the position opened their mouths wide to protest at the preferential treatment being given Akufo-Addo and were brow-beaten by the NPP's Sanhedrin. Dr. Kofi Konadu was warned to keep to his station, but he has refused and is still campaigning.
Alan Kyerematen woke up to smell the coffee and is ready to lock horns with Akufo-Addo in the December primaries. Even before he goes any further, those opposed to him are doing all they can to frustrate his efforts.
They are unhappy that he is determined to kick-start the contest, using the concept of "appeal to floating voters" as his trump-card.
They are doing dirty politics to tarnish his image and to create the impression that he will be better off if he doesn't contest the primaries. Some are even threatening him in diverse ways to discourage him. Why do they not want him to contest Akufo-Addo? Does he not have his democratic right to participate in political events?
His recent utterances seem to have provoked his opponents into turning the dagger on him from within:
"Those touting themselves as best candidates for NPP have already disqualified themselves because Akufo-Addo remains the man to beat. Everyone is saying no Nana no vote and does the reality” he stressed.
Dr. Amoako-Tuffuor indicated that Ghanaians are anxiously waiting for Akufo-Addo to redeem them from the incompetent Mahama-led administration and thus “we are not ready to try our luck in 2016 with any new candidate”.
“We need a leader who will save the nation not someone who will come and loot the state coffers”.

MY COMMENTS
I am intrigued by this last bit from Dr. Amoako-Tuffuor: "We need a leader who will save the nation not someone who will come and loot the state coffers”.
Is Dr. Amoako-Tuffuor saying that Alan Kyerematen is a thief who shouldn't be trusted? Who among the NPP pack can come clean when it comes to matters of public funds and state assets? Eih, the NPP's "book" and "rogue" politics will kill it.
I hear that a new political party is likely to be formed from it if the situation worsens. Are we already seeing glimpses of what will precipitate the fall of the elephant?
I shall return…
