The Rise Of Feminism In Ghana

The true essence of education is to liberate the free thinking mind from ignorance. Furthermore, education must consist of the power to aid the free thinking mind to reason pass logic. As noble as education has been and continues to be-it has not always succeeded in yielding men and women of reason. Logic seems to characterize most of our educated men and women. The notion that somehow logic might have an affiliation with reason is false. Both logic and reason are not closely related. In my opinion, if logic was science-reason would to be the explanation of it. In short, logic means one could add, subtract, divide and multiply-the four elements needed to judge. However, its true nature remains subjective. Simply because; logic is in and of itself irrational-it lacks responsibility. Reason, on the other hand, is rational thinking in and of itself. It recognizes and accepts responsibility. Herein lies the difference between both logic and reason.

Unarguably, anything which arrests the free thinking mind from thinking for itself could be labeled a form of religion. The main characteristic of religion is to deprive the mind from the very art of thought and thinking. Simply put, to deprive the individual from seeing things as they are as opposed to what they are not. Religion thrives on logic; it's either black or white-good or bad-heaven or hell. The notion of action to reaction is something foreign to logic. Also, finding a middle ground for something is unacceptable to logic. In fact, polarism would've never existed had it not been for logic. Segregation, class division and mass confusion are all direct consequences of logic. Nowadays, it has become quite fashionable for most of our educated women in Ghana, and also in the diaspora to consider themselves feminists.

Feminists believe that women are equal to men, and therefore do deserve to be treated as such. They also live by the notion that whatever men do-they could it as well. Feminists refuse to accept the invariable differences, which naturally exist between the sexes. It's has been scientifically established that women are intuitive creatures. They rely on both their emotions and intuitions to make important decisions. Men, on the other hand, are mentally oriented creatures. Meaning, men rely more on their brains to make decisions as opposed to their hearts. Through the ages, the men's reliance on their brains to solve your everyday problems has increased their mental faculties. It could also be said that women have become emotionally stronger through the years as well.

Undoubtedly, the invariable differences between the sexes indicate that both sexes need to cooperate with one another for the realization of a peaceful coexistence. The women have the hearts, and the men have the minds. The mind in cooperation with the heart makes the body whole. It's true that highly educated women do tend to equate themselves to men. This is partially because; an educated female brain awakens the masculinity in a female. This awakening compels the educated female to question her natural position in relation to her male counterpart. She rebels. Moreover, in her need to redefine herself as man's equal-she would pursue a stance, which would defy or even challenge a man's natural position in relation to hers. Hence, the ideology of feminism, which is nothing more than a rebellion of the female against her own natural submissive nature.

This said, what the educated woman doesn't seem to realize is that the natural equilibrium, which exists between the sexes-if tampered with-could mean the absolute demise of both sexes. Feminism doesn't seek equality, but rather competition. Because mind you; the equality of both sexes is already evidential in their invariable differences. For instance; men are dominant by nature, and women are submissive by nature. This particular difference is necessary to avoid sameness within the natural scheme of things. Feminism also disposes the notion of accepting equal responsibility. Of course, the lack of accepting equal responsibility naturally polarizes the sexes. And this is the true intention of feminism. In short, feminism is a logical ideology, which subtly aims to confuse the natural balance between the sexes. A religion, which has yet to invent its deity.
