Everyone is on the hunt to be happy, to feel content and in balance in their world. Some have ways to help them attain daily contentment. While others are still searching for what will make them happy. They have successfully put their happiness on hold unconsciously.
The secret of contentment is so simple that most of us may gloss over it without so much as a second thought.
The truth is that life is incredibly short.
By living and enjoying each precious moment in the here and now, being thankful and happy for all that you currently have, you’ll live out your life in contentment.
This doesn’t mean you’ll never experience disappointment, encounter challenges or suffer pain. It also doesn’t guarantee that you’ll always be successful at whatever you undertake. But it does mean that being able to enjoy what you have and be at peace with who you secure the contentment you seek.
Be thankful and grateful for all that you have. That’s the secret of contentment, pure and simple.
It's good to have dreams and goals. Maybe you want to have a baby, have a new house, to get married, that's great but don't go the next five years discontent being single, discontent with the house you have, discontent not having a child.
Learn to enjoy the season that you're in. Being unhappy, frustrated, wondering if it's ever going to change is not going to make it happen any sooner. Sometimes we’re so focused on what we want, we're taking for granted what we have.
The right attitude is, “ I really need a new house but in the meantime, I'm happy with the house I have. I really want to get married, but in the meantime, I'm content being single. I need a better job, but I'm happy with the job I have right now".
Contentment doesn't sometimes happen automatically, it's a choice we have to make, and being content doesn't mean that we don't want change, we give up on our dreams, we settle where we are. No, it means we're not fighting everything. We're not frustrated but we are working on our dreams and at the right time, we'll get to where we're supposed to be.
