*Nye obi na okum ananse! *

My first Reason is that it will show the true colours of the NPP as "champions of democracy in Ghana".
The NPP has been boasting all along, with a strategic political narrative, that has nothing to do with what they practice. They have always preached democracy and always practised dictatorship.
After losing to President Nkrumah, they decided to bomb their way to power, culminating in the 1966 coup d'etat.
Busia was seen fighting the judiciary in the famous Sallah case. President Kuffour's Supreme Court appointments followed closely after the government had lost a case.
They have either interfered even with the constitution, or acted in such manner in the general manner they govern Ghana whilst in office, than can meet the ordinary eye.
It is significant that this is clearly showing even within the party itself. From now on, Ghanaians would know what it is they are looking at, when they see the NPP. And I am certain that many shall see anything but democracy! It's nice to see such suicidal stupidity at the highest levels of that party' echelon.
My second Reason is that it will give some of us enough time to ask some questions and see if we can extract a response before the race begins.
We hope to harvest enough responses or signals of indirect responses before the race actually begins. These have direct implications on recurrent themes about public perception of arrogance, for example.
Even though the grounds on which these questions are being raised are not far-fetched, the last time we checked, the closest we have got in response to all the calls for explanations and some transparency concerning his exit from Oxford University. The only wise thing they managed to say was that "Nana was treating the question with the contempt that it deserves".
This is one of my favourite questions, and I would be glad to commence my interrogations from where we left off, and raise the issues anew, in the light of ridiculous attempt to throw dust into the eyes of the public. With some luck, I can even predict that by the time elections begin and they go in search for campaign funding, even their donors will know that they are betting on a wrong horse.
The third reason is that it shows very clearly that someone has to be flag-bearer of the NPP "at all cost"! And that is already going to do half the job for us. There could be no better way to get the NPP divided than through their own machinations. It is obvious that this is bound to be the most difficult swindling of power in the history of competitive politics within the NPP itself, as a party.
What next, NPP? First it was "property owning democracy" clearly spelling out, in black and white, their ideological bankruptcy. Now it is "Rule by decree"! This is a self-imposed political dynamite. I can only wish you well as you ponder over even greater mischiefs that will ensure your own defeat.
The fourth Reason is that we are beginning to understand what Akufo-Addo means by retiring from public engagements, and "seeking the face of God" before announcing his intentions to contest the 2016 elections. He is not seeking the face of God. He is busy underground, sabotaging democracy within his own party. The most ridiculous antic in recent times has been the attempt to bestow an award from the NUGS! Simply amazing!
And as though it were a joke, National Executive Committee of the NPP actually met on Thursday, October, 3, 2013, and "Top on their agenda was whether the party should hold an early congress to elect a presidential candidate for the 2016 elections or not."
Here is how the story goes:
"the Angry NPP supporters besieged the party headquarters where National Executive Committee were meeting over fresh proposals to prepare the party for the 2016 general elections.
Top on their agenda was whether the party should hold an early congress to elect a presidential candidate for the 2016 elections or not.
The steering committee of the party early this week included this proposal to be considered by the party’s national executive council before the national executives are also elected.
But some supporters of the party are against moves by the party leaders to hold early congress.
A section of the group that besieged the party headquarters said they were convinced Nana Akufo-Addo, NPP’s 2012 presidential candidate will win the 2016 so there was no need for an early election. The supporters clad in red apparel are rather calling for accountability.
It took a handful of heavily armed police personnel to bring them to order.
One of them told Joy News’ Beatrice Adu, “We want our party to go through polling station election, constituency election, go through regional election, subsequently national and then we will have our national and then presidential primary.”
He also wants all candidates to be given fair and equal treatment especially persons contesting for parliamentary election to minimize the number of aggrieved candidates who would want to go independent."
How could anyone have put it better? This is what is currently happening within the NPP. *Nye obi na okum ananse! No one else is responsible for the death of Ananse but Ananse himself! *They seem quite happy digging their own graves, that thing may work very well!
Let's keep our fingers crossed, whilst we all wish the NPP an early congress!
