Voting to elect the president or prime minister and members of parliament for any nation must be seen as a serious exercise that must be approached with caution.
The welfare of a nation depends largely on their leaders; how honest, dedicated, dynamic and visionary they are coupled with their readiness to be of selfless service to their nation.
Therefore, it is always wise that the electorate approaches an election, voting with their head but not hearts. The good decisions they make, choosing credible leaders to lead or represent them, will go a long way to better their future circumstances. If they approach election with their heart, electing leaders and representatives based on tribal affiliation, kinsfolk, partisanship and or, the looks of the person, they risk electing sorry to say, a rogue, to lead them.
Was it not the case when some people in 2012 were saying they wanted a young handsome man to become the president of Ghana hence voted for Mr John Dramani Mahama of NDC aka Mr Dead Goat? You and I are witnesses to how this young man messed up Ghana.
Do you not vote for people that you believe can win the election and are credible to perform their duties to yield satisfaction that betters your personal and communal circumstances?
Will you deliberately vote for a person that you know by all obvious signs to not be able to win the election irrespective of how much you want him or her to win?
I, the writer, will never in a million times and years cast my vote for a candidate that all physical and spiritual signs conspicuously show that he or she cannot win an election in which they are contestants. I don’t know about your decision in such a situation, fellow Ghanaian.
Everything clearly shows that Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen aka Alan Cash, stands no chance to garner about one million (1,000,000) votes out of the 14 million (14,000,000) that any of the contestants obtaining most of the valid votes cast going beyond 50%, wins the presidential election.
The presidential election is a straightforward fight between Mr John Dramani Mahama of NDC and Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia of NPP. No voter in Ghana today can tell me that it is not one of the two mentioned individuals that will win the election. Why then do you go and cast your precious vote for Alan only to jeopardise the chances of Dr Bawumia, the visionary, and the most innovative candidate, winning the election one touch, or losing it to Mr John Mahama of the “Edebii keke” fraternity?
The Bible says, in Matthew 5:15-16, "No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven".
As the lamp when lit is for a specific purpose but nothing else, as exemplified by the parable above, similarly does no sensible individual vote for a candidate they know clearly well to be not able to win an election. They had better go for the alternative candidate that reasonably stands the chance of winning or not to be far from the winning margin.
Alan is from NPP and has only planned to put at risk the NPP’s presidential candidate’s chance of winning the election. He is simply being mischievous.
I call on all those who wish to see their circumstances changed for the better to please vote for Dr Bawumia aka Mr Digital, alias “The Big Brain”.
I plead with my fellow Ashantis to not cast their votes for Alan Cash since he cannot win election 2024 to become the next president to replace outgoing President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Alan will better be recognised if he uses the money he is wasting competing in election 2024 to build a school or a major road to be named after him.
Dr Bawumia, ascend, ascend, ascend to the presidency. IT IS POSSIBLE!
A word to Alan and those electorate planning to vote for him is enough.
