As a matter of fact, I've started telling friends off, including even my better half who fwded to me today one urging one to send to 10 people one doesn't want to lose in 2016 and 2017. I extended my phone contract after two years without picking a new phone and the storage problem is simply a burden now, as I am unable to read (don't read most, btw) and delete fast enough the 100s of posts in a couple of days from the 5 Whatsapp groups I belong to.

For a long while now, I've been contemplating writing an article titled "What's Trending on Your Whatsapp Group?". It is simply horrific!

Before I joined one, a cousin of the NDC Chair Kofi Portuphy told me about how he vamoosed from their school groups in utter dismay. I am contemplating decamping from some groups myself, my protests and blastings, especially against the lame Christian posts having gone unheeded them. When a business acquaintance started broadcasting those Christian posts on IMO, not only did I warn him but blocked and reported him for spamming!

I have had enough!

Valid points made, but I think it all depends on ones perspective. I personally take it as a compliment for someone to think about me and send me a joke or greetings. I feel grateful and do not put too much meaning into the nature or content of the message. I find it really rude not to at least acknowledge receipt of a very friendly and encouraging message from a friend who has thought of me. I will advice those complaining now to wait until they no longer receive any message from their so called friends. If you truly like someone, you will be happy and grateful that they sent you a message.

I have a great sense of humour. I do like a good old laugh and enjoy banter among friends and family. I must admit that some of the WhatsApp messages: photos, videos and audios are hilarious and creative. However, some of the messages that just keep coming up on my phone are unfunny, inappropriate, nuisance and crucially do drain my battery life.

Of course, one could simply delete or block them. I do think there're some friends and family you could make clear to them that you don't want those kind of stuff. Just don't care of what one may think of you. Personally, I do disregard the appeal or urge on some of the received religious audios/videos to further share them with friends and family.

I don't think there is anything you can do to stop them than to tell them to stop sending, delete or block them as contacts.
