Aboakyer Golf tees off at Winneba

Accra, April 30, GNA - This year's Aboakyer Open Golf Championship tees off at the Windy Bay Golf Course at Winneba in the Central Region on Saturday, May 5.

Mr Joseph Eshun-Fameye, Captain of the Windy Bay Golf Club who announced this in Accra on Monday, said about 50 golfers from across the country, are expected to participate in the one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition.

He said the competition, which would be played under the local rules of the Club, has Handicap 18 as the entry requirement for the Men, whilst the Ladies point of entry is Handicap 24.

Mr Eshun-Fameye said the competition which would be graced by some government officials with Mr George Ntsiful, President of the Ghana Golf Association taking the ceremonial tee-off. Mr Ghartey Sam, President of the Windy Bay Golf Club will present the magnificent trophy to the eventual winners. Prizes would also be awarded for the 'Longest Drive on Hole 17and Hole 18' and 'The Nearest to the Pin'.
