Afariwaa Invitational Golf tees off at Tema

Tema, Dec. 21, GNA - The annual Afariwaa Invitational Golf Championship tees off at the Tema Country Golf Course on Saturday, December 24 with about 150 golfers expected to participate. Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Chief Executive Officer of the Club who announced this at Tema on Tuesday said the amateur golfers are from Tema, Celebrity, Achimota and Bok Nam Kim Golf Clubs. He said the competition would be played under the rules of the World's Golf governing body and the local rules of the Tema Country Golf Club.

Mr Adablanu said some of the golfers who had registered for the competition are John Cobbina, Kofi Gyau and William Yeboah from the Tema Country Golf Club while Kwame Saarah-Mensah is expected to lead the Achimota team which would include John Sam, Yaw Assah-Sam and Lee Mensah.

The Ladies section would also have such veteran golfers as Mona Captan, Elizabeth Ezan, Ama Morgan and Maria Ben-George all of Achimota Golf Club.

Nana Owusu Afari, Managing Director of Afariwaa Farms would be assisted by Kofi Gyau, the Captain of the Tema Country Golf Club to present prizes to the winners. Meanwhile the Tema Golf Club would open its activities for 2006 with the Lady Captain's Prize competition on January 14, 2006.
