Fresh from claiming a massive GH¢1,800 for winning the
professionals event at last week’s Tigo Tema Open, golfer Kojo Barnni has
revealed the desire to take it a step up and compete in big competitions in
Europe and the USA.
Barnni did play at the British Open in London back in July
and was overwhelmed by the experience so much he wants to establish his clout
on the international circuit.
“I didn’t do that well but I was impressed with the
experience, learnt some lessons and promise to do much better next time.
“Playing more competitions in Europe and USA is my next
target where I’m going to improve my play and perform better. I thank my
supporters and they should continue to pray for me,” Barnii has told ALL
SPORTS.
He added:
“I’m seriously am looking forward to the Accra Open and
Ghana Open. Placing second at the Asantehene Open (in Kumasi in May) taught me
to take the game serious everytime and I’m happy to win the Tema Open.
“I will now take this same seriousness to every tournament
because I need to improve very much.”
The 27 year old who has sworn to bring world golf glory to
Ghana will forever remain indebted to his official sponsors Goldfields Ghana
Limited who footed the entire bill for his participation at the British Open.
Goldfields in fact, have agreed to remain a permanent
sponsor of Barnni as he strives to reach the very top of the sport.
“I thank Goldfields very much for I owe where I am now to
them. They have pushed me, they continue to push me and I am grateful to their
Director Alfred Baku and all the executives and staff of the company. God
richly bless them all and I promise to also make them proud,” Kojo Barnni sang.
