Captan wins Girl-Child Golf championship

Tema, Dec. 12, GNA - Moni Captan scored 44 points to win the Second annual Ghana Girl-Child Promotion Open Golf Championship at the Celebrity Golf Course at Sakumono, near Tema on Sunday. Captan, Captain of the Celebrity Golf Club who played 23 Back and 21 Front with a handicap of 17, would be playing to a new handicap of 15. Komla Degbe took the second position with 42 points with Charles Kwame placing third with 39 points. Mary Morgan won the Ladies category with 37 points followed by Grace Afriyie at second position with 33 points while Eunice Adzakpo took the third position with 32 points.

Kwasi Amani won the Male Youth event with 48 points with Frank Desimone coming second with 43 points while N. Afriyie took the third position with 41 points to garce the occasion. Victoria Dacosta came first in the Ladies event with 45 points followed by Jane Tei at second position with 39 points with Patience Ketor taking the third position with 31 points. In the Professionals' category, Emos Korbla came first with 67 gross with S.K. Klah placing second with 72 gross, while Victor Brave-Mensah took the third position with 73 gross. Nii Nkoto Ablade Odai Ayiku the fourth, Nungua Mantse, who was the special Guest of Honour called on corporate bodies, institutions and individuals to help develop girl-child golf in the country.
