Ecobank Golf tees off at Achimota

Accra, Jan. 17, GNA - This year's Ecobank Ghana Limited golf Championship tees off at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, January 21.

Air Commodore K.K. Pumpuni, Chief Executive of the Achimota Golf Club who announced this in Accra on Monday, said the one-day 18-Hole Stableford competition was open to amateur and professional golfers from Achimota, Tema, Celebrity and Bok Nam Kim golf clubs.

He said the competition started over 10 years ago continue to generate interest year after year because of the attractive prizes the bank put at stake and this year's event would not be different. Among an array of golfers that has attracted over 150 participants for the competition, include Michael Aggrey, Sam Sowah, Wisdom Asempah, Kwame Saarah Mensah, John Sam and Paul List all of Achimota Golf Club. The Tema Club would also parade golfers including William Yeboah, John Waterngberg, Richard Agbenu and E.T. Mensah.

The Professionals would engage in a 36-Hole Scratch competition beginning on Friday, January 20.

Mr Samuel Ashitey Adjei, the newly-appointed Managing Director of Ecobank who took over from Mr Albert Essien, would be officially introduced to the participants.
