Frank Adu has chalked up his first trophy in 2012 at the Taysec April Monthly Medal in a grand fashion. A seemingly shaky start triggered by a few bogeys in the earlier holes never relinquished his desire for truly happy ending as he rebounded to a glorious sunshine finish. He returned a net score of 69 playing off handicap 11 in the Men A Division.
“Anytime I win a competition I am happy because golf is a very unpredictable game and secondly it’s a very competitive game with a number of competitive campaigners.” He observed
Except for a few bogey scare and a rather ‘daunting’ hole 14 that made his shots and approach shots quite difficult, the top banker appeared to have had his game shaped up. “I found the fairways and my short game was also good. I guess as rare as it is, all parts of my game came together on the day, apart from hole 17 where I shot a triple bogey.” He said.
A shot at ball that danced like it had a lot of backspin on it nearly secured him an eagle on hole five but ended with a birdie. Other birdies that he sunk on the front nine were par 4-sixth and par 3- ninth. He also birdied par-5 fifteenth on the back nine and made 5 pars in all. Quite a kaleidoscope of scores!
Noted as shots guru, Frank Adu concedes that, constructing a draw shot gives him a thrill of his game but this only remains a whirlwind wish on the course. “My ideal shot is a fade, although I am always elated if and when I am able to construct a draw.” He continued that, “the draw is such an effective and classy shot. I wish I could play it at will.” He intimated

Taysec offers an unlimited supply of excellence and inspiration. Mr. Anthony R. Morgan, Group Commercial Manager of Taysec noted that, to keep the vibrancy of the monthly medal at an all time high, the company had partnered Allianz Insurance Ghana to offer two lucky golfers and their partners a treat at the plush La Palm Royal beach in a monthly draw. The said draw saw Monica Sampaney and a male golfer as winners of the maiden draw.
In all, 79 golfers took part in the April Monthly Medal.
