Golfers gear up for Tema Lady Captain's Prize

Tema, Jan. 9, GNA - About 100 golfers would assembly at the Tema Country Golf Course to vie for this year's Tema Golf Lady Captain's Prize on Saturday, January 14.

Mr Ebenezer Adablanu, Chief Executive Officer of the Tema Country Golf Club who announced this at Tema on Monday, said the one-day 18-Hole Stableford competition is open to golfers from Tema, Achimota, Bok Nam Kim and the Celebrity Golf Clubs.

Mrs Elizabeth Koomson, Lady Captain of the Tema Golf Club would sponsor the competition.

It would be the last competition she would be sponsoring when her tenure of office ends at the end of January this year. The competition, which would be played in two segments, has Handicap 1-18 in Group A while Handicap 18-24 would be in Group B. Achimota Golf Club would also host the Ghana Girl-Child competition on January 14.

About 50 young golfers are expected to participate in the competition that is aimed at unearthing up and coming talents. Air Commodore K.K. Pumpuni, Chief Executive Officer of the Club said golfers who would excel in the competition would receive various awards.
