Keteku wins Ghana Telecom Golf

Accra, Sep. 9, GNA - Dickson Keteku returned a net score of 67 to win this year's Ghana Telecom (GT) Open Golf Championship played at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday.

T. K. Gouvinus followed at second position with 70 net when he beat Godwin Sai, Maxwell Akarfo and Francis Torgah on count-back. In the Ladies encounter, Esther Amedzro came first with 73 net with veteran Mona Captan coming second with 76 net while Elizabeth Aku Yabah placed third with 78 net, beating Grace Afriyie on count-back. Emos Korbalh won the Professionals category with 137 gross with Anthony Amuzu placing second with 145 gross and the third position going to Emmanuel Osei with 146 gross while Kojo Barnie took the fourth position with 148 gross.

The one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition opened to amateur and professional golfers throughout the country, attracted 170 participants. Mr Bob Evans, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club thanked Ghana Telecom for sponsoring the event.

Major (rtd) Albert John Chebe, Head of Corporate Communications and Customer Care of GT, said it was the policy of the company to support the community in which it operates. He gave the assurance that the company would continue to support the club to develop the sport in the country.
