Kusi Boateng wins Tema Captain's Prize

Tema, Feb. 11, GNA--Kofi Kusi-Boateng returned a net score of 67, to win Tema Country Golf Club Captain's Prize 2005 Championship played at Tema on Saturday.

Emmanuel Tetteh Mensah came second with 68 net, Ebo Dacosta was third with 69 net, beating John Nyen on count-back while Nana Owusu-Afari took the fifth position with 70 net, also beating Frank Etwi-Barimah on count-back.

Adelaide Owusu Adjapong won the Ladies event with 66 net, veteran Mona Captan came second with 71 net, beating Ama Morgan on count-back while Yaa Konadu Sarfo Debrah placed fourth with 73 net. Erick Henaku won the Professionals event with 69 gross, Victor Brave- Mensah came second with 72 gross, Abubakar Sadik Ibrahim took the third position with 75 gross, beating Mike Quarshie on count-back while Baba Akologo placed fifth with 77 gross.

The one-day 18-Hole Medal Play competition opened to amateur and professional golfers from Achimota, Tema, Celebrity and Bok Nam Kim golf clubs, was sponsored by Mr Kofi Gyau, Captainn of Tema Country Golf Club.

Mr. Felix Owusu-Adjapong, President of the Tema Ccountry Golf Club called on the participants to involve themselves in the activities of the club.

He said the club was doing everything possible to ensure that the the irrigation work on the Course is completed early enough for successful competitions. The Club would host the President's Putter competition on February 26.
