Accra, Dec. 16, GNA - Paul Owusu-Baah and Mary Asafo-Adjaye became proud winners of this year's Achimota Golf Club Captain's Prize Championship played at Achimota Golf course in Accra on Saturday Owusu-Baah scored 46 points to win the Men's event, while Mary had 42 points to win the Ladies category which was keenly contested by veteran golfers as such as Mona Captan and Clara Price. John Amuzu beat Kwaku Tettedzi to take the second position after they had scored 42 points each while Kofi Kusi-Boateng also defeated Saddick Toffa on count-back after tying at 41 points, to take the fourth position with the sixth position going to Mathias Dorfe with 39 points.
Nana Bema Tackie placed second in the Ladies category with 39 points followed by Beatrice Harrington at the third position with 37 points, while Diana Baiden placed fourth with 37 points. Emos Korblah won the Professionals event with 68 gross, Anthony Amuzu placed second with 69 gross, with Isaac Quarshie placing forth with 72 gross.
The one-day 18-Hole Stable-ford competition which was opened to amateur and professional golfers in the Greater Accra Region, was sponsored by Mr Bob Evans, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club. Mr Mike Ezan, President of the Achimota Golf Club was assisted by Mr Evans to present prizes to the winners. 16 Dec. 07
