The stage is set for the official launch of the standard Chartered Bank Ghana’s Fastest human (GFH) launch at the handball court of the Accra stadium today.
According to Reks Brobby, founder of GFH, the event, designed for U-18 boys and girls (students), seeks basically to unearth athletes to feed the national athletics teams as done in football.
He mentioned that his outfit had partnered the Ghana Education Service (GES), organizers of INTERCO, an athletics championship for High Schools, to pick the five fastest boys and girls each from the 10 regions in the country.
The selected athletes from the regions will race for supremacy in an elite competition scheduled for November 22 at the El- Wak Stadium to pick Ghana’s Fastest Human U-18.
“The stage is set for Monday’s launch. We’re doing this to revive the days of INTERCO and to raise young talents to represent Ghana. Standard Chartered Bank bought into the vision, hence their massive support, and I must commend them for rallying behind this noble concept,” Mr Brobby said.
The program is put together by GFH, financed by Standard Chartered Bank in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS), the National Sports Authority (NSA), the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA), the Ghana Education Service (GES), the Ghana Investment Promotions Center (GIPC), Yetron Services Limited, Pipas Gym, Bel-Aqua Mineral Water, Wrenco Printing, Mukaase Kitchen, Chic Optique and the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC).
