Abortion girl dies in Bogoso

A 16-year-old Junior High School (JHS) student at Bogoso in the Western Region has died after she allegedly attempted to commit abortion.

According to reports, the deceased Angelina Nsaah died after she consumed concoction in an attempt to terminate the pregnancy.

Some of the residents alleged that the guy who impregnated the deceased one Atsu might have administered the abortion drug to her.

Others also alleged that the boyfriend sought the assistance of a female friend called Patience, who purportedly prepared the concoction for her to abort the pregnancy.

They told DAILY GUIDE that the girl, after consuming the concoction, started bleeding profusely and shouted for help.

DAILY GUIDE learnt that the deceased was quickly rushed to the Tarkwa Hospital and later transferred to the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi by her father for medical treatment but, unfortunately, she died later.

Speaking to journalists, the father of the deceased, Eric Nsaah noted that the daughter was living with a certain woman at Bogoso.

He said that the woman called to inform him on December 31, 2015, that his daughter was ill.

. Mr. Nsaah said he was told that his daughter was given concoction by a certain boyfriend and a female friend to abort a pregnancy and so he quickly rushed to the woman’s house.

He mentioned that the daughter was initially sent to the Bogoso Hospital but was referred to the Tarkwa Government Hospital.

According to the father, the daughter mentioned the name Atsu before giving up the ghost.

A police source also confirmed that on December 31, 2015, while the deceased was at home at Bogoso, she started vomiting and was sent to a clinic in the town but was later referred to the Tarkwa Hospital.

The source indicated that at the Tarkwa Hospital, it was detected that the 16-year-old girl had taken concoction to abort a pregnancy.

The corpse was transported to the Tarkwa Hospital for postmortem, according to the source.
