Starr News can confirm three cases of the Pneumococcal meningitis have been recorded in the Greater Accra region.
The region is the latest to be hit by the disease which has claimed over fifty lives since its outbreak in the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Northern, Eastern and Upper West regions.
Over 200 people have been infected with the disease across the nation.
The cases in Accra were recorded at the Ridge Hospital.
Head of Public Health Directorate at the Ridge Hospital Dr. Farida Abdullai who confirmed the case to Starr News said measures have been put in place to control the spread of the deadly disease.
She called on the public not to panic and immediately report symptoms of the disease to the nearest hospital.
