The Chairman of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) International, Apostle Samuel Amponsah-Frimpong, has called on the President, John Dramani Mahama, to tackle the pressing environmental issues affecting water bodies and the forest cover in order to ensure a sustainable future for the nation.

He made the call at the end of a three-day annual Ministerial Prayer Conference of the church held at the Anim Temple at Anum Asamankese in the Eastern region last Friday.

Apostle Amponsah-Frimpong congratulated President Mahama for his decisive victory in the presidential election and a successful inaugural ceremony.

The chairman of the church commended the Electoral Commission, the security agencies, and all stakeholders for their tireless efforts in ensuring a peaceful and transparent electoral process.

“We also congratulate the immediate past President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for his gracious and seamless transition of power to the elected President, demonstrating a high sense of statesmanship and commitment to the democratic principles of our beloved nation,” he indicated.

Apostle Amponsah-Frimpong applauded the former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party for his timely concession and acceptance of the election results, which helped to ease tensions and maintained peace and stability in the country.

He urged the president to make efforts to foster unity in the nation after the elections, inspiring a spirit that embraced inclusivity and reconciliation, rejecting divisive rhetoric and championing nation-building initiatives.

The Chairman of CAC further encouraged the president to lead the country on a path to healing and progress, while prioritising the collective good for the advancement of the national agenda of improving the economic gains of the nation, as well as creating opportunities for all Ghanaians, especially the youth to thrive.

The Annual Ministerial Conference of the CAC provided the church the opportunity to pray for the nation, the president and all state functionaries for the progress of the nation.

It brought together ministers of the church from across the country and outside to seek divine guidance, wisdom, and intervention in the affairs of the church, the nation, and the world.
