In commemorating their tenth anniversary, Advans Ghana Savings and Loans, Teshie branch has donated items worth GHC5,200 to the La General Hospital Maternity Ward.

The financial institution as well gave mothers an account opening gift vouchers of GHC100.00 as seed money for newborn babies to encourage them to cultivate the habit of saving when they grow up.

The items donated included: eight Cussons baby set products, 48 packets of baby wipes, 60 packets of diapers, 90 Cussons soap, 24 pieces of baby towels, 25 pieces of aprons, 30 account opening vouchers and 24 pieces of key rings.

Mrs Barbara Odei, the Chief Operations Officer, doing the donation on behalf of the company, said they recognise the effort of the Hospital in giving care saying “this would go a long way to assist mothers who come to deliver their babies.”

She said this was their way of giving back to society and to also assist mothers who come to deliver without basic needs.

Mrs Odei said to mark their 10th anniversary, they have extended the gesture to all the 19 branches they operated to ensure that people living in these communities benefited.

She said even though the financial sector was faced with challenges there was still hope in Advans Savings and Loan and urged the public to continue to save with them to enable them give back more to society.

Dr Ebenezer Oduro-Mensah, the Medical Superintendent of the Hospital, on behalf of management, staff and clients who patronise the services of the Hospital, expressed gratitude to the institution for the gesture.

He said it is important that children cultivate the habit of savings and urged the mothers to use the seed money given them for the intended purpose for the benefit of the kids.

Dr Oduro-Mensah called on other stakeholders to emulate the gesture to enable them improve on the quality of healthcare given to the public.
