Agogo (Ash), March 29, GNA- The Agogo Presbyterian Hospital in collaboration with the Agogoman Mma Kuo, a social group of citizens from Agogo resident in Accra and Tema, inaugurated a 180,000-mortuary at Agogo in the Asante Akim North Municipality.
The mortuary was built with funds provided by the Agogoman Mma Kuo. Right Reverend Dr. Frimpong Manso, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, commended the Agogoman Mma Kuo for the laudable initiative.
He said though the hospital was in the name of the Church, it belonged to the community hence it was imperative for civil society groups to contribute to its upliftment to for good health care services. Rev. Dr Manso urged other groups to emulate the communal spirit of the Agogoman Mma Kuo and charged the hospital's authorities to maintain the facility well to ensure its longevity.
Mr Thomas Mensah, General Manager of the Hospital, said the provision of the facility has helped improved services at the hospital and increased the revenue generation.
Mr Kwasi Owusu Ampomah, immediate past secretary of the Agogoman Mma Kuo, said funds for the provision of the facility were generated through fund-raising and voluntary contributions by members. 26 March 08
