The Ahmadiyya Youth Wing in the Wassa West Circuit has donated blood to the Blood Bank of the Tarkwa Government Hospital.
The president of the Wing, Mr. Oman Adjei, said the exercise, the first to be held at Tarkwa, would become an annual event.
He said apart from supporting the aged and the less privileged, and preaching the Koran, it was also their duty as Muslims to donate blood to save lives.
Every eligible Ghanaian, he said, should, therefore, consider it a responsibility to donate blood towards saving another person’s life or even his own life someday.
Mr. Adjei said as part of the youth wing's activities, it would be organizing monthly clean-up exercises to ensure that the communities were cleared of filth.
He said members of the group would also plant trees at key areas within Tarkwa.
One of the elders in the Wassa West Community, Alhaji Abdul Raman Andoh, called on the various clubs, youth groups, and individuals, to emulate the Ahmadiyya Youth to help save lives
