Foase (Ash), July 7, GNA - The District Director of Health Service for Atwima-Kwanwoma, Mrs Dorothy Afoakwa, has called for a united campaign to check the spread of the HIV-AIDS infection She said the churches, traditional rulers and other opinion leaders in communities should use their influence with the people to encourage responsible sexual conduct.
They should also help to end the stigmatization of those living with the disease.
Mrs Afoakwa was speaking at a public forum held to educate the people and remove nagging misconceptions that people have about the HIV-AIDS at Foase.
She said there was the need for every Ghanaian to accept to go for voluntary counselling and testing to know of their HIV status. Mrs Afoakwa urged people to support their relatives and friends living with HIV-AIDS to live normal lives.
