The Asante Asokore Traditional Council has pledged its continued support to the promotion of quality health care delivery, especially for women and children in the Sekyere East District.

Nana Professor Susubiribi Krobea Asante, Paramount Chief of the traditional area said the council would partner the district health directorate and the Sekyere East District Assembly to provide the needed infrastructure and logistics to ensure quality health care services for people in rural communities.

Susubiribi Krobea Asante made the pledge after donating a cheque for an amount of GHc 2,000.00 on behalf of the traditional council, to the district health directorate to support the purchase of a new ultrasound scan machine for the Okaikrom health centre in the district.

The health directorate needs a total of GHc 15,000.00 to buy the new machine for the centre which served several other adjoining farming communities in the district.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, after the donation, Susubiribi Krobea Asante said the traditional council was very much concerned about the health of the people, especially women and children in remote parts of the district.

The traditional council would, therefore, continue to support the district health directorate to acquire the needed equipment and consumables that would enhance health care delivery for all.

He commended health officials in the district for their dedicated service in the face of many challenges and urged them to continue to making sacrifices to ensure that every person had access to quality and affordable health care at all times.

Mr. Justice Ofori Amoah, the District Health Director thanked the paramount chief for the gesture and said the directorate was grateful to realize that the traditional council was solidly behind their cause of duty.

He said a total of GH¢10,000.00 had so far been received by the directorate through fundraising towards the purchase of the machine and appealed to individuals and corporate organizations, as well as the government to come in to support.
